I'm overplay this hand I think somebody made and king right now an -- -- from the white.
Country doesn't need a victory -- It needs leads the speaker's proposal right now it's still out of balance it's -- Previous governments -- being partisan it's just a matter of past there have been no deals of this magnitude made.
In modern times and congress and forestall reluctant program.
The president continues to change the goal posts along this process.
We're looking for solutions and it doesn't seem at least from the president's proposal that he is at all serious about finding the solutions to help our country.
Somebody made him king the president wants to reach an agreement is to be talking with the members of his own party right here in Washington.
Trying to broker an agreement not out there are a crowd and -- because -- Time for the president and -- -- series.
It's about -- spending problem.
There.
We look forward to to working with the president when he decides to get serious the president -- believe the president has come up with a plan -- it is actually possible.
Think somebody made -- -- I think he takes itself in the Clinton because she doesn't.
Got blinders on he doesn't see where he stands in the universe.
So -- President Obama really fit.
Seem to think somebody made him Cain for president Japan senator Rick Santorum joins us and for even asking got a new -- -- American paid trips and thank you very much for the new -- down.
Now to VA -- the president been accused of being a king arrogant stubborn not -- broker an agreement not being serious and much more is that there.
You look I mean this is a negotiation right now and obviously you know both sides are going to be throwing throwing bombs at each other.
Until you get to the serious negotiations.
Probably the most troubling part of that is it the the president doesn't seem to be willing to come forward with specific ideas and how he's gonna get there and and the one point that I won't agree with the -- what the Republicans are -- is.
This deal is not gonna happen let's the president leads this is not -- his experience -- fortunate -- experience in the past.
In getting legislative accomplishments was just working on the democratic side of the Al obamacare stimulus package things like that if you look at the Obama accomplishment -- -- Super majorities in control of everything.
But there really isn't a good track record of him leaving a bipartisan group together and that's what's gonna have to happen here.
Ickes is to -- you and the -- wants a certain amount of revenue from taxes on the rich right yeah it.
The Republicans said about OK we'll we'll give me that certain amount -- revenue.
And do it on the -- but will the -- did on the rich is deductions and the closing loopholes that impact only the rich so the president gets the same amount of money.
He hits it from the same people but revenue raising taxes -- Republicans say we're gonna wouldn't do it this way and he says no.
What what does he say no to that -- the same it's the same money to see people given it up he.
I think you say no because.
He likes the deal that he has in place it's -- -- not him I don't know this same -- book and it's this image is same revenue and it's it's gets from the same people that.
The reason the reason I think you say no I think he will say -- of just about anything the Republicans put forward is because the fallback position.
Is better for him then any deal that the Republicans are gonna put forward.
In the fall -- position is a tax increase on everybody.
-- and back to where pre bush tax cuts and he -- -- have his big increases in taxes and then at the same time blame Republicans for taxes going up on lower income people.
That it -- do you think he wants to raise tax sun lower income people.
Because he'll be able to blame it on -- Republicans and eventually Republicans and Democrats will come together in the probably cut some of those taxes back but.
He'll have a victory.
In getting his all of his tax increases -- -- -- here's the other dignity.
For many -- pretty gives all the tax revenue he says it he says this much tax revenue I want and I watch for the wealthy.
And I -- have to tax rates going up the Republicans say.
Okay will give me this is not a revenue -- -- from the same people of the wealthy but instead of raising your taxes we're gonna take away all the deals to get that only impact the -- And he says -- -- that.
Well in what does that tell you -- tell you that he really doesn't just want that and because if he didn't want that amount of money from the rich.
The Republican plan accomplishes so what does he really well.
What he really wants is more taxes which is what he gets if he does nothing.
He and here's the most important thing.
He gets big cuts in defense which you would never get under negotiate -- deal of any kind with Republicans and Democrats he gets half a trillion dollars in defense cuts.
Yes he gets a half a trillion dollars in cuts in domestic programs but they're going to be more than that.
Good to be much more than that -- -- negotiated deal so this is actually a very good deal for the president to just say.
I'm putting forth good faith and if you don't do everything I want that I got to fall -- I can live with.
-- here's another thing that he says in many explain this month he says he's could say let's let -- -- sending upper income folks go up.
And then.
Let's set -- a process with a time certain at the end of 2013 of the fall to 2013.
Where we will work on tax reform will look at what -- he goes up what American is ever going to believe.
At president or anyone else says later on the government's gonna do that yeah I mean I mean.
How does he think -- don't react if so it should certainly.
Has no Americans could trust that I'm here from the government I'm here to -- popular don't worry we're into this later.
It goes back to the basic premise I think I've stated which is I don't the president really wants -- -- I think he's happy with the deal he's got.
Analysts that he almost -- -- he does he has he has the deal that was put in place a year over year ago which is all the tax rates going back to where they are DN.
Two big cuts a big cut an offense in a big -- and that's the -- -- That's right he must lost a close look at because he doesn't seem to -- -- -- he sees -- there's actually a pretty good -- that they negotiated over a year ago.
That then puts puts him in a position where he doesn't have to negotiate that he can he can well he's -- -- my friends but he has a slight other problem and that's at the end of December we're gonna bump up against the debt ceiling.
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- The president no longer wants to get permission.
From congress rated debt ceiling he wants to make the decision some subsidies get this unlimited credit card to run up the debt ceiling.
And he thinks that that's gonna go over.
This -- this really hearkens back to two presidents Wilson and Roosevelt.
Both of -- When they were up against our congress that that made it very difficult for them to get their things passed they simply change the rules.
That happened in the progressive error happened again with Roosevelt.
Obama is looking is taking a page out of their book in the two things he wants to do is number one.
You mentioned before no -- no congressional approval but that's two -- and second.
And they're gonna do this when it looks like unless some rational democratic senators come come to to their aid which is change the rules of the senate.
To make 51 votes all that is necessary to pass -- United States senate he will eliminate by and large the filibuster.
Every every majority party -- -- yet he let her daughter that's gonna do it there they are actually threatening to do that in fact they are scheduled to vote to do that.
To change the rules.
And a way that's never been done before it's been threatened before.
But no nobody's ever pulled the trigger on it and it looks like they're willing to pull the trigger to get what they want which is.
A majority -- rule to be able to force things down the throats of the American people that they don't want.
If -- if if he gets his revenue.
But makes no structural change in the way we do business.
We're going I mean if there's no effort to do that they just gets its revenue in that is managing a problem and it's going to get worst and that is not dealings and I kind of president I'm.
And best yet what is surely not solving the problem it is it is -- could remotely in the right direction.
The problem is spending if you look at historically since -- -- -- we spent about between eighteen and 19% of the overall economy has been government that's the percentage of of the economy -- economic activity the government is its consent.
If you look at revenue word about 16% to a little lower than if you look at spending were 25%.
-- out of kilter.
When it comes to spending and the president all he wants to focus on is a little into it and -- in the region -- -- sixteen not eighteen is because of poor economic growth.
He doesn't want to focus on the problem and that and that's it 'cause he wants to transform.
What American government is about.
Is it because he thinks he has a better idea -- -- -- because he's stubborn Americans.
Hey look I I don't think I do I believe the presence governor and maybe I don't really -- that well but what I will say is that he is convicted.
That government should have more resources and make more decisions in America and that's what the course we're headed.
I think you -- -- my pleasure thank you.
