Right now Sandy's aftermath a lot of folks who saw their homes and worldly possessions washed away.

Demanding sea wolves be built now to protect them from future storms the solution.

May not be all that simple senior correspondent Eric Shawn is live in the -- gay community in Brooklyn -- New York air.

I Bagwell a lot this debate over building billions of dollars.

Potentially out in the ocean in New York pray for -- storm surge projects the residents of this community seagate Brooklyn while they say they have a much simpler.

And practical immediate.

Partial solution to protect in this community and there is one it is a seawall.

Seven foot tall concrete and steel wall in front of -- house that can absorb.

Some of the shock from the smashing waves that's -- wall apparently left that house standing although it was damaged.

-- -- over here though was made of what were some concrete.

And sadly that house was totally destroyed its owner Keith Gordon told us the wind ripped the roof off that house.

He and other neighbors here want the Army Corps of Engineers on the government to build -- -- to protect their community from the force of the ocean.

She'll come -- old red.

It can be Ed went but he won't be so strong because it'll break onto the wall so whatever one comes -- won't be so strong.

The -- breaking on your property to speak to the pot.

If the government doesn't come -- Head -- one unified -- -- -- into each Alice.

-- -- -- -- Other Army Corps of Engineers doesn't have a specific plan for C loss what they do have a plan for building up this page.

The format of the office told us that that's the way to do it to build -- beaches and build domes.

That's the only way they think to do what they say sea walls can help.

They can't do very much against major storms like -- We could put -- won't -- anything you put out here from the house to dissipate the energy is gonna help.

But it's not going to protect.

And as you can see behind me someone has already be getting a -- a concrete seawall not waiting for the government to start.

Back to you Eric Shawn thanks very much here.
