-- Left right to left right to left -- -- Columnist with policies dot com and the fiscal times student Kelly in the middle -- -- former new York Republican congresswoman.
And twenty -- 2012 -- Romney delegate and of course to move green Fox News -- good to see you all thanks to god.
Let's I would I would have tackled the debate -- question for us -- -- -- Has become in some criticism from the right of his party.
Did that Mike was talking about his role in all of this is while he is he certainly leading at the Republican side.
-- -- that seem to be many Republicans on the right of the body.
Not happy with speak -- Yeah I actually think nothing could be better for Republicans right now than to have the conservatives go after Boehner because.
I know that's if not outright for the republic right be wise that because the public has the view that -- Republicans are the party know their intransigent they're stubborn.
So let them see -- -- is pursuing what is a reasonable proposal.
In the absence of coalition with the far right with people who have made this -- conversation extremely difficult.
Look the country wants -- a deal.
But they also want.
Spending cuts so the president's proposal was completely idiotic and didn't really go to any of the issues that are extremely important for this country in the long term.
-- proposal was much more realistic we need to get people once on the side of that and having it having the media say -- -- a conservative faction is really on his case I think most Americans who say well that's good you must be.
I actually spent last evening with Alan Simpson.
The best thing about Simpson Bowles was everybody hated it now he knew it was a good -- it's.
How significant is this a rebellion if if if that's not too strong a word against John -- I think it's very interesting that Maynard -- -- would be step of calling a conference.
And at and saying OK where are you are you with me on this this is what I see this is how I think needs to be done agree with me.
And the conference backed him very strongly he's so it's a few people there's always out liars then there's out -- on both sides of the fence.
I'm both bodies of congress and so adults it was I think it will resolve itself and I hope that it will resolve itself -- Boehner -- What Boehner has offered is something that seems to me.
Much more fair for the people of the United States.
And what money I can't laugh about people talking about seeing a fair share.
And why is it fair.
To them being good at what you do and earn more money.
And I mean how does that fail that we now tax you more.
-- reloading and basically that's the -- -- first here.
Do you think this is a sort of significant.
Showdown between the perhaps a more moderate wing of the Republican Party represented by -- -- And the -- -- will this change the way Republicans look on Capitol Hill -- It's not significant at all -- is stronger than ever before.
If in the past -- saw Eric Cantor making some moves and you know kind of and go in his own way what we've seen recently is cancer signing off on -- -- planned.
And yes there are some far right folks in the Tea Party folks who are upset that they were pissed off of committee's -- The reality is they are weaker in this congress for upcoming congress than they work.
Before it's almost like.
He debate here is looking at these new -- members more conservative members and saying you should listen to me in the first place we are having the debt ceiling crisis.
-- back in the summer.
And that might have actually affected the election in the favor of Republicans and a better way it in -- and it didn't.
But at this point in time.
Boehner has more straight as the speaker than he ever has and what -- past couple of years.
Now her what does he do with that is the question right what he's done with his first proposal I do have to take a -- -- -- -- -- you know kind of that.
The Republican talking points about the president's -- been laughable.
-- -- two little one margin the American people have said.
They want the wealthiest 2% in this country to pay higher taxes and I really don't say anything free space at its headquarters -- -- the president can't -- -- -- -- I want to -- The president talking -- having that having -- what happened within his own party right the president is certainly according to the polls is human right points -- seems to have the -- -- in the court of public opinion and on the biggest stage.
Right but if people would like very much to have the wealthy pay more taxes on the other hand if you ask them.
Are you wealthy most people say no I don't think so even if they are.
And that's interesting and interesting statistic and there's been years since that's the -- that it's this loosening things up 2%.
It's really steep tax rates low for the 98%.
American lives and -- -- a little bit -- it doesn't have -- -- -- anywhere -- that.
And that let me finish my point my point is that 63%.
Of Americans do not want their taxes raised and Obama will raise their taxes on everybody everywhere you look really nice.
88% of America -- tax rates.
When you get -- -- yeah.
OK it's OK talking I don't.
I didn't -- all by saying that I wrote a year ago that tax -- to go up on the top.
2% really I actually think was the top one or 5% and yes because.
That's all President Obama has campaign doc that's his entire plan for fixing our debt situation and it isn't sufficient.
And relate to really have -- mandate for.
You -- -- -- long he has -- emulation I mean look I think people are gonna put taxes up on wealthy people whether it's done via a rate increase or deductions.
I don't care I hate the most depressing thing here look everyone's gonna end up paying more taxes and -- it forget it I mean it taxes are going up pretty much -- everyone eventually because.
Our budget situation is completely critical -- -- you don't get it in the federally abetted by the states.
But that depressing thing is.
We are gonna end up with a sloppy deal here just as we did a year -- that last year and in every year there are 4000.
Changes to the tax code.
Mostly they're people who red tie get a special tax break in December for wearing -- red -- they are so stupid we need to review this.
To have everyone have a sense that it is a fair tax code.
To Kelly's -- points he's made.
You know we have a very steeply graduated.
Tax program the United States the top 5% pay an enormous amount of all taxes there's no denying that her -- you could make it slightly steeper.
But most people don't know that most people if you poll -- On what do you think the top 2% -- -- they have -- -- -- -- Just a ridiculous thing that you -- -- -- -- -- and our viewers -- -- everywhere everybody everybody's excited about that or excited or find out shall we say about this.
Tom -- weaknesses let's be fair that everyone paying compact because everybody's getting money even if they don't -- -- oh points as congress is united against Reagan.
And Clinton Clinton.
That was not a powerful dissent I with a more divided power hi this is going to test as to which -- is stronger if this and it -- you might see a filibuster rule and has felt the minority party that.
Ted young says could -- these people have to grow that all looking like fools Democrats and Republicans.
I and a big Vinny says everybody wants everybody else to pay more where as editor of the folks in Washington think well OK if you move -- I think the president has been very clear in every single one of his proposals that he is looking at this and a balanced way.
He has already signed one point one trillion dollars in spending cuts he says he's willing to put more spending cuts on the table and the Republicans have.
Because of -- would -- tax.
Pledge they've taken with Grover Norquist are.
I'm just thinking that they are totally beholden to those small percentage of Republicans who are the ones who don't want to see tax rates increase.
They are acting like children.
And the only way that the deal is going to be struck.
Is if there's a balance approach where you do you have spending cuts that the president is willing to make on entitlements.
And you also have increases in the tax rate and he's not yeah.
Yeah -- -- it's your ducks played OK okay thank you know present I -- that's what the president as soon.
Well I did I -- -- -- -- that I sat down in Atlanta athletic event last week and he was very clear that we want to I always thought a -- really are going up our Internet lineup German deals not these are democratic closet that he's not I didn't into.
Let me handle these -- -- -- wideout yup we thought you did it's literally two against one.
And my one is actually where 70%.
Of the American people aren't it's where the president is it's where he campaigned on this for two years.
And beat it and after narrowly in emanating from this because this is also coming from business leaders coming this is -- -- can't wait -- get it.
Yeah -- really lets let the -- the latest on the net and I think.
Those banks credit -- -- so I and I -- had Q I thought taxes should go up on the hiring Americans.
That's the issue is it should be balanced President Obama is totally cracked on that his proposal is not balanced against Simpson Bowles had what was it 41 or 31.
Spending he aspired residents aren't being down oh billion you know aren't you know it's not true that this fictitious because you've got a pretty much I'm understanding that there were -- -- -- yeah.
Now that's relevant.
-- -- -- What an autonomous -- and so -- -- your symptoms are those aren't talking points that fit the reality.
At one -- President Obama wants is no cuts in entitlements.
He wants to raise taxes on the wealthy if that's true but in addition to the fact the president has already.
Got in place taxes that are going to go off on medical care.
That taxes are going to go up on capital gains they are also going to go up on dividends.
People with a senior citizens of this country many of them live on.
Capital gains and -- on their capital gains that they -- -- -- soul on dividends.
He's not even thinking of the seniors who are good.
Senior who whose incomes living thing I got -- yeah.
-- and that's why didn't like everybody laugh about the state he's not thinking of seniors.
When the -- it isn't as high chair and hit an entire play and is looking at a balanced way of coming together with the deal where.
You're not having seniors.
And the middle class take the entire -- which is what Republicans want to -- you guys are already thinking I didn't mean I have asked rates and a senior us.
The middle class and low income collapsing okay taken me what it is it is laughable now and deny what most economists say.
To deny what even.
That the job creators are saying.
Of protecting the well as you are -- -- Number two to one that will be the last word on the fiscal -- -- get the last word on it I wanna move on took.
