-- right now seven point three magnitude quake.

Hitting off Japan in an area that does not need incidents like these new video now building swaying in the sirens wailing in men and women.

Children running for higher ground.

A reminder of the massive quake in the deadly tsunami that hit the same area just about a year and a half ago we're gonna drill down that good morning everybody as we follow while.

As the first started to -- earlier today on Bill Hemmer welcome to Friday -- good morning about Miami of.

I am Martha MacCallum so last year's tsunami.

Killed and left missing some 191000 people as you remember this unbelievable images that we saw of the coast which was devastated.

It also damaged nuclear power plants -- created one of the worst nuclear disasters that we have seen in his.

Dream -- on that story for a long time Japan today has canceled.

The tsunami warning which may be the best bit -- news we've heard so far but.

A terrifying reminder may not as easily be dismissed David piper.

Streams live out of southeast Asia what is the damage report in Japan David.

-- -- thankfully there hasn't been any serious damage reports and also.

No deaths or injuries -- fun as you said the tsunami warning has been lifted.

But it has been a terrifying day for the people of Japan bringing back so -- many memories of nearly two years ago -- that massive earthquake and tsunami hit.

And it was also in this same area -- where it hit before and that and many people.

Who'd suffered loss on how to head for the hills when that.

Quake struck and I traveled up there on the first anniversary to see those communities and -- still largely devastated it was still trying to pick up their lives.

Let's hardly any buildings in some communities even been rebuilt yet so off -- today of course it's terrifying and bringing back those memories.

For those so many people that have been affected by the -- -- two years ago bill.

At what has Japan done to limit the damage from earthquakes David.

Well this is very high tech country as we know and they've been working on this early warning system and the NHK this state TV -- -- broke into normal transmission to warn the people of Japan.

That the quake was about to happen.

And also.

On the mobile phone system people go to SMS is to say the quake was going to strike -- and that was ten seconds before it happened.

And that's very important if you remember those images of two years ago when people were driving along in that come with a tsunami approaching they didn't seem to even though that he was -- so to get the information out tell the people.

All of the dangerous and army is so important because there's only a few minutes in Japan.

Before it strikes off to the earthquake -- particularly on the eastern seaboard bill.

David -- thank you out of Bangkok Thailand on the map here is -- the impact zone was off the coast of of Sendai Japan which is where all the damage occurred in march of 2011.

Now this earthquake a little closer.

A little further -- from from the coast but the earthquake from a year and a half ago was closer inland.

But a much greater magnitude this was the scene for march of 2011.

It was up around a nine.

This one about a seven point three so much more.

-- much greater difference between the two if you advance it one more time you're just wanna -- -- the impact of march 2011.

But now the -- seen here the red circle that's what we're looking at today.

You compare that now to a year and a half ago.

You had reverberations down in Taiwan.

You -- areas west of Beijing that felt it.

In the entire area out of East Asia was impacted by this a much different scene this year and that is.

Good news for right now as we continue to track this month.
