And that lets let's -- You make -- a bit of a turn here and get into our -- back segment.

Where we take a look at the media and then the week that's it's that's coming to work -- that's coming to a close in some instances of media bias that we've been watching and and one of the big stories -- that everybody's been talking about this week is Bob Costas.

Who on Sunday Night Football on NBC this past Sunday night.

Took it upon himself.

Let's talk about that the terrible.

Up awful story involving an NFL player who killed his girlfriend and then himself.

Just a couple of days before just an awful situation.

In Kansas City and -- is really use that as it as a chance to talk about about gun laws in this country.

Right and that and of course that tragic shooting murder suicide that comes on the on the -- -- -- wave of stories about CT this chronic traumatic encephalopathy.

Which just say brain brain injuries from the -- -- colors collisions and so on and yeah.

And one would think that gee whiz you know here we are with the sort of a spate of stories all over the place about houses had has been a big study from Boston university in the veterans department working together on this and so on -- clearly clearly a huge issue.

This appellate the Bloomberg News is famous -- -- now who said listen that have been traumatic brain injuries Suri is not a big story for the NFL at all.

It is a -- essential story.

As in football won't exist if they don't they're they're gonna do with us in some -- -- -- talking up pretty radical things like no kickoffs now and then you know so I mean this is huge -- So for -- and then jump that there's a notion -- brain injured may be but let's talk about gun control for awhile.

It's great I've never met the man I have no reason to impugn his motives except that seems to me that if I were looking to defend the NFL against -- Spear coming right they're chefs on and brain injuries from from helmets I will open -- -- -- -- And now all of a sudden the ship a sudden just over here to gun control.

And I by the way Bob -- has become a celebrity.

I get almost newfound respect him scene -- of -- sports -- but now I'm a statesman going on MSNBC and hold forth and I have no doubt.

That he'll be on sixty minutes and talking Oprah and so on he's got a whole new career open up.

As a liberal pundit on gun control and meanwhile though -- hitting everything when he made millions.

Over the thirty years in the forty years of his career was talking about what a great tackle that was and so on that alone I'll put behind him should now move on -- new career as a statesman and a peacemaker.

-- that just to play devil's advocate is there no place in our public discourse.

For discussion about gun control laws a lot of liberals were saying I'm not even liberals some other people were saying look.

You know look at the number.

Violent.

Stories involving guns mass shootings leading up.

To this election last month and yet neither candidate brought it up even once as an issue in their.

Respect I think there's a place for it and and that probably sports might not be the best place -- if you wanna but you know look if it's.

He he made its choice what I'm saying is he being made a choice I'm I'm now tired -- -- And -- knows -- move on to something different and -- -- as the platform of NFL's worst it to do it from and by the way not only make myself -- -- to laugh but also help the -- off the hook.

On the injured head injury thing not bad not bad went from when it became very clear.

What side everyone was on based on their response to -- either they.

We're applauding him.

Lower they immediately jumped on him saying a lot of things that people here like football in the middle of the -- culture dependable go to despise the -- -- soccer and tennis and so on but now sudden.

Kind of all of football people they never heard of albatrosses you're great -- -- he now again -- trust me you'll do well in the represented Manhattan.

-- -- He forgot that -- But after.

The show that did that did gym open lines on all the talent -- -- as well is news watch.

Hosted by my friend and colleague John Scott you can watch his watch every Saturday at 2:30 PM.

And an 11:30 PM eastern time great show and -- both on the panel this week.

All right I'll tune -- to that Ellen Ratner and Jim Pinkerton thank you both -- good to see you.
