Bought the house armed services committee with a sincere and nice to see you back in the -- She's about twice a year review here I think there are three ways -- examine what's happening in Egypt first with the president Morsi.

What does he want.

What is he up -- You north I don't really know.

What he's what his old -- -- But I'm I'm really concerned that the people in Egypt -- in the early crossroads.

They can either follow the Iranian model -- -- -- -- the US -- Real open democracy.

I hope they choose the latter.

Because I think the performer puts us that that that whole area is is just a tender box -- you see these.

Tuner boxes.

Around the world.

At a time when the president was taken away our fire extinguishers it puts us -- a bad spot.

Let me get to the US in a moment here do you believe as so many others do that he wants Egypt to be.

The next.

-- -- -- Boy I hope not.

Indications could be that that's what he wants but I sure hope not for years they've been stabilizing influence in the region.

And it's very important to them on south of Jerusalem and in which we see the problems Syria Libya all all of this coming together puts.

-- -- more that chip in jeopardy and we have a special relationship with them we've had for years.

And we need to be able to carry out our commitments to them.

But when we see these kind of things happening it it puts all of that in jeopardy as we're cutting back our our military our ability to do the things of that.

The focus on American values.

And helping democracies around the world -- -- some of that position second topic us.

What will we do.

What can we -- -- -- The president told Syria and and I think this all of the region this kind of in the in the same kind of opening told Syria don't use.

Chemical biological weapons against your own people if you do you crossed the -- like.

I support the president and that Republicans support the president that America support.

I wish he would.

Gone the next sentence.

That to let them know what happens when they crossed the Red Line.

He told him once before don't cross and red line and they have already crossed that and so we moved the -- -- I think you have to be resolute I think you have to be consistent.

And when you tell people don't do something you ought to tell them what the consequences will be I wish -- -- had done that but we're we're behind him and enough in helping the series -- backed him back in Egypt though I think the third issue to be discussed always is what is the army do.

Do they follow orders from the new president or do they -- hours.

What's the answer the bureau Egyptian military.

For years has worked -- have our military many of them have been trained they understand the difference between.

Military rule and civilian rule.

They don't step -- they've tried to stay out of this 11.

Mubarak fell they came in and brought stability and and brought elections and then they pulled back.

Because they understand based on.

How they've worked with us for years how our system works and that's -- system that -- military leaders -- to follow.

Think the reason they've gotten involved is because it looks like it's getting out of hand and and could erupt into something like we've seen in other parts of the world itself.

-- they want to follow civilian leadership.

They are only concerned that the civilian leadership that was elected democratically whether we like what but -- -- or not they were elected.

Democratically.

But I I think.

They're there and quandary they don't want to see people killed in a wanna see this huge eruption over there.

I think they will follow the civilian leadership but I think there are going to expect the civilian leadership.

The -- the people.

Are we can thank you it is far from settled this at our world watches -- -- -- good to see him --
