Or welcome back everybody collegial live from our nation's -- Neil -- here where it looks at this time that they are getting further and further away from a possible deal.
Just certain percent on saying it is possible to get one done.
By the end of the year but realistically it gets tough when both sides.
Are now starting to sniped at one another.
You know there is this issue to about what kind of a deal do you want do you want one as Republicans that skewed too much toward raising taxes or one Democrats -- could be skewed too -- -- -- entitlements.
Therein lies the rub.
Florida -- -- Marco Rubio telling me earlier.
He would prefer a deal that does not hike taxes.
And that the ones that they're considered right now we're kind of upside down Marco Rubio moments ago.
I am not voting for anything kills jobs I -- not voting for anything -- -- and taxing the result not -- veterans deductions -- example I think we need to simplify our tax code but not as a way of generating revenue as a way of making their tax promote more growth friendly.
But here's why that's so important.
It -- in fact the rates go up because the president refuses to budge.
Then you'll have to answer for that next year when our economy isn't growing when when unfortunately people lose their jobs who -- at a dental clinic as a medical balanced not a medical billing specialist.
For the paralegal law firm loses their job -- the courier at the law firm loses jobs these are not millionaires and billionaires.
These are working class folks that are -- that may lose their jobs as part of the 200000.
Jobs will be lost the president's tax and -- goes through.
If that happens Barack Obama will be responsible for it but I am not gonna be complicit and hurting growth in America which I know is the only way to solve this problem.
So you don't subscribe accident view but -- Deal or No Deal boomerang is an arts.
Why don't want us to go off the fiscal cliff which by the way.
Congress created a bipartisan way this fiscal cliff is the direct result of the last fiscal fourth.
When we had to debt limit showdown in the summer of both sides and -- -- sense of freedom but I voted against because it was a bad idea why did they create these artificial crisis has a weighted to force action and it works they didn't what might have -- -- -- -- -- they did and they -- and now the country's -- I've been an out and do it again now they're basically saying is now -- -- growth in America let's cut a deal.
That hurts growth in America so that a year from now we'll have an even worse fiscal cliff which means and that's the real fiscal cliff we have a sixteen trillion dollar debt.
Which these tax increases will do nothing to solve and you'll have at least 200000 plus jobs next year than you have now.
And the people who vote for that will be responsible for that decision they'll be held accountable for their terrible public policy.
I'm kind of used bin at the camp foundation dinner and other other venues you have been talking up the middle class need to -- -- the middle class is expanding middle class.
For some reason the last election senator Republicans lost the middle class.
And -- -- to since he gets stereotyped as a party.
That appeals only.
So the well to do.
Net net I guess what and ask -- is.
How do you change that the perceptions.
Sticks in the eyes on how do you change that.
Well first of all we need understands that the middle class is what makes this different an exceptional every country as rich people.
But what makes what's made us different throughout history is that we have this broad based and vibrant middle class.
And it's not a -- it's not just about people in the middle class it's about millions of people that are trying to get to the middle class and from that I always rely on my own life experience my parents worked in the service industry.
Working class folks immigrants that it make a lot of money but they made enough as a bartender and -- made on a house on a car and give us a chance at a better life.
And today all four of their children live a much better life than their parents did because of them because of America's pro middle don't know no class.
Policies we have to get back to that now with the challenge the -- -- century are different because two things that are standing in the way our economy's not creating middle class jobs.
And too many of our people don't have the skills for the 21 century middle class jobs that's -- we have to modernize our our education system so that it meets them to -- that reality.
And what did you think of the Mitt Romney's comments shortly after the election.
That this was lost this election was lost because so many just paraphrasing -- senators -- indebted or getting something.
And well you're not iiroc and I -- on that caught my Brothers and reported on it and I'm not you know I think Mitt -- a great person is would have been a great president so I'm not gonna criticize them I will tell you my personal receptionist.
That that the vast majority of Americans are what what my parents house which is an opportunity opportunity -- better for themselves and an opportunity to give their kids the chance that whatever they want to be.
And we have answers -- that limited government and free enterprise and conservatism has real -- answers for that we just need to start making that connection -- people.
Yeah I think what he was saying concerns that.
There are so many get so much from government that their -- most slaves.
You can be embedded loyal voters while I didn't didn't have somehow criticize that -- are being talents and different than a bit sore losers but but.
Well I'm not gonna comment on his -- because I wasn't there and I -- I'm not gonna stand here now criticize -- almonds -- nuts and seniors and don't always admit it -- again I think Mitt Romney is a great person would have been a great president I'll just say this I think the vast majority of Americans wanting government that creates the conditions for them.
To -- have a chance to get into the middle class the kind of growth the kind of educational opportunities most people would much I mean the vast majority of Americans.
Would much rather have a job that pays more than a welfare check and I believe that -- on my heart I know that to be true and I think that we have answers that we we should pursue them.
Looking at this -- -- sixteen race and you don't talk about it now.
Newt Gingrich got some -- -- when he said that the present crop of potential candidates.
But at a tough time against -- a possible Hillary Clinton democratic nominee that the Democrats to once again run the table what do what do you make today.
Well I didn't hear him say that all I can tell you is -- four years is a very very long time.
It -- think back four years ago and how different the world looks politically they'll be two or three things that happen between now and then.
That'll change the dynamic of everything and -- from my perspective what I'm really focused on is making sure that.
To the broadest number of Americans possible limited government and free enterprise principles that are truly helped build our country.
It's an exceptional one is one that is being sold to an appeals to the broadest number of Americans I think we have great principals to sell I think we need to apply our principles of conservatism.
To the challenge is -- -- for centuries.
And -- we do that I think the country will be better off.
Conservatives will be better off the Republican Party will be better off.
Senator today our governor Rick Snyder -- Michigan.
Signing off on a law that would.
Effectively until tomorrow much like Wisconsin.
Not the governor says he simply granting workers in the state right here in union -- not be an Indian and as you know President Obama there yesterday saying he is against this measure -- he was in Wisconsin.
What do you make of it.
Was in full disclosure I haven't read the bill and I believe people should be allowed to join you cannot believe people should be allowed not to join a union I come from a right to work statements worked well for Florida we have unions in Florida.
They -- and some unions -- a very good job of representing the workers might that was an union I walked the picket line with a culinary workers in Las Vegas.
Back in 1983 -- ready for forget the exact -- But the point is that I respect unions and they have a role to play in America but I also think that workers have the right to decide whether they want to be part of a union or not and I think elections on whether unionized or not should be fair elections and open election.
She's not rigged elections and as long as we have that I think America will remain competitive.
Unions argue that this is a Trojan horse on the part of the governor about that although he says.
This is about giving workers a right to choose what I wanna be -- or not it is really an effort.
It's -- kill off unions that left with its other devices into signing up for -- gonna -- -- -- or not.
Most in this environment -- not too so it is really a backdoor way to -- Well listen if if you thought I.
Think of the union's perspective for second in the law basically forces people to be a member of the organization and forces them to pay -- the after the deal for you.
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- And so forth but I also respect the right of individual workers to decide whether they want to pay that -- whether they want to join a union now I am not an expert on the Michigan law I don't know all the details on the but again I come from a right to work state in Florida and we have unions they exist in Florida they don't have as much powers that doing some other states.
But they exist and they represent their workers were on many occasions.
