Let's go back to our top story this hour secretary of state Hillary Clinton set to testify before congress next week.
On the Ben Ghazi terror attack while growing chorus of Republicans call -- a special select committee to step in.
Among those Iowa congressman Steve King.
Who has said that -- -- is ten times bigger than Watergate and Iran Contra combined and congressman king joins us now live he sits on the Judiciary Committee good morning congressman.
Good morning Alison why -- Ben Ghazi that we we'd love to have you on why do you think that have been -- stories ten times bigger than Watergate and Iran Contra combined.
Well I look at what actually happened in Watergate and it happened exactly on that day is -- -- and our marriage that was years ago.
But it was -- it was a break him there then Nixon had no knowledge -- at the time it became about the cover up.
Iran Contra again as far as is as far as real depths of what went wrong and who violated well laws -- could really get that identified in there.
They -- those two stories are all wrapped up in American history as this conflict senate and the gates of these guys.
This is a case where we had an ambassador who was assassinated.
He and the others were victims of a plot -- -- plan we were willfully and intentionally misinformed by the by the White House and it you know Richard Nixon tried to cover of Watergate -- Mean that's an easy case to make that the Obama administration didn't want us to know what has gone on.
We still don't know we don't have a chronology of a timeline of events we don't have an autopsy of ambassadors Stephens.
We don't know who was in the situation room who came and went at what time but we do know that about Osama bin lot.
So I think we need to pull all of these things out and on a full time line.
With witnesses under -- that are the players in this so we can at least figure out what time the president went to bed.
When he -- that he was gonna go to Las Vegas and go -- his fund raiser and how he downgraded the situation to be something that didn't he -- one of the news parent.
So so congressman your calling -- come forward now this special.
Select committee why don't you think that the house foreign affairs committee can get to the bottom of it.
Well so does is -- across in the jurisdiction that's there but we have a select committee on intelligence and intelligence to.
That is doing work and they do most of them behind closed doors and -- classified setting.
Foreign affairs will go into some of this there -- perhaps armed services committee has -- -- We need we need to have a full panel that would -- into this with a committed staff on -- so that.
We have we haven't put all the information in one place and then we can turn into a report.
So that the American people will eventually know what happened otherwise I don't believe we'll ever learn what happened.
And that's -- course of the benefit of this administration and the detriment of our republic.
You know -- -- you any sense that we're spending.
Too much time on the narrative here and not as much time as on justice Catherine Herridge.
Our our correspondent just reported that there are two suspects apparently in custody.
In -- foreign countries right now but we don't know anything about it we don't know anything about charges.
We haven't heard anything about justice is our focus in the right place here.
Well I think we need to focus on justice to.
We need we need to know what happened.
And we need to bring justice to the perpetrators.
And so -- I think that our administration hopefully Hillary Clinton will testify about that some this afternoon.
What those relations in their countries that are holding a couple of suspects and I think we'll get some information on that today.
But the laws got to be enforced I still I don't know whether there were any casualties on the other side in this in this conflict either that took place on September 11.
So there's so many missing answers to so many questions that have been asked and I don't think that we can get them altogether and have an understanding of and a consensus on what it is.
And -- it's a joint select committee that will put this all this information together.
Have a staff -- a team and people from both sides of the rotund both sides of the aisle.
That represent the various committees it would have jurisdiction then we can get to the.
Bottom up analysis OK congressman Steve King thanks so much for coming in -- explaining to.
What you're calling for.
