-- well -- security threat -- nation's banks especially important to you if you do you a lot of banking online -- report released today is warning that hackers may stage.

A massive attack that would be very difficult to stop in the next several months Morgan -- is cyber security analysts is joining us now so Morgan this is from McAfee.

Right how credible is this threat.

Very credible McAfee is a credible company Symantec and all these other folks they do this all the time and what's credible about this threat is that they've done I've I just got through Breeden report before we came on air its extensive.

It goes into a lot of details about how it starts and what it's doing that makes this a very novel in different approach so let's talk about what makes a difference.

They are using code from different things that -- called Zeus and spy I -- a botnet that Microsoft shut down earlier.

But what they're doing -- you're gonna go to -- I think that it's really your banking site and what it's doing in the background is putting something between you when your bank.

And as you answer -- question it's diverting up to its own server makes you think you're actually on your bank but at the same time it's siphoning funds out of your -- That is so frightening what can we do back it up -- less money in your account if -- just the way gotten the idea and they -- out right.

Which you can do is it really gets down to we're gonna have to depend a lot to make sure that the banks understand this threat.

-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- You've got to look at the behavior the web -- when you see a window pop up that says please waiter you have an air.

You need to shut that thing down really because that's exactly how it's getting you to send your information you put your secret information and it says please wait.

And then it goes off to its own server and takes -- -- -- have very interesting a couple months ago several of our big banks in this country experienced a huge hacking.

Project I guess that what he caught hacking in what that was that was the group Al is dean now aging related -- that everyone thinks that -- came -- -- I -- everyone experts point to Iran as they are writing definitely Iran and you agree with that -- -- denial of service -- you know.

When you want to access the bank.

It would say that it's not available for service in this -- -- -- in the biggest record breaking hacking that we've ever seen now we're getting a little bit of a warning on this why.

Is is the belief that this will happen in the next few months and not happen now -- the capabilities there.

For one thing -- doing a very good job of marketing they're saying we're going to attack there where hackers are they are they're saying that we were we were -- recruiting people they're training people to be botnet masters they are basically coaching and this is like the minor leagues before you go to the major leagues they're testing these folks out specific challenge for the and there are only have like -- this in front of -- saying we're gonna -- and you're not gonna get -- -- -- -- They might be able to stop some of this but how do you stop.

A -- house I mean you're if you're one person gets up our -- it's gonna make it very difficult for law enforcement to investigate.

-- -- I think is couple weeks but we talk about the electronic communications and privacy absolutely one of the things they talked about not getting the war for initially was characteristics of organized crime.

You go ahead get the wiretap.

This absolutely fits that definition of organized crime -- -- if something happens.

You want law enforcement waiting to get a -- you want them to be able to intercept that traffic right away find it shut it down they do that now.

Yeah well it's difficult because of the changes the proposed changes in the law.

So as we we've talked about watching out for ourselves and it's something pops up we don't we sit on the program we're careful.

What what about that the big guns at the CIA and the FBI that you you've been advised in the past are they are they -- -- they have the capabilities to protect -- -- You don't they don't not to protect us I mean that's gonna come from the companies the private sector that build this the banks that take -- -- what they can improve what they can provide.

It's something it's -- intelligence and information they need to do a better job of sharing information and intelligence and the financial services industry was the first one to create.

The financial services information sharing analysis center.

President Clinton signed it and office called presidential decision directed.

63 said let's do a better job of sharing information between the government and the private sector to better defend against these threats because it's.

Intelligence it's really gonna help you prevent the salon.

And security got ego with -- -- cyber security analyst -- like you're on shopping and banking online -- you.

No I do but I actually you know I'd I'd have gone back to a lot more using apps on the iPad.

You really you have to stay off of on line.

And on the Mac guy thrown through I mean did you work for Mac by the way I -- -- -- -- apple not not a -- that advice that I cared about all their stock pressed a.

But nobody -- but I I prefer to -- because it works but absolutely because of the security issues that -- doesn't mean that it won't be vulnerable to something.

But when you get ten million problems out there Mac only has a few of those and that's why a lot of people especially some of the intelligence community these agencies.

There are intelligence community agencies that have no windows code running on the critical systems it's all Linux Unix.

Things that's can be very highly secure.

How very interesting this could be a potentially very big story over the next few months you have it a little bit of insight now Morgan -- -- Enceladus could -- guys thanks Heidi and CEO John some ski.
