It's all right great thanks -- don't spend hundreds of dollars on professional holiday pictures this year we're gonna show you how you can actually take don't -- perfect pictures.

With your own camera.

That's sweet would it is the president of unique photo in New Jersey and he joins us like you weren't great great to be here you know we're gonna take a lot of pictures over the next couple of weeks and I think the average person -- Whether they get that fancy.

SL are single lens reflex camera like -- -- the point shoot.

They put it on automatic and they just take all their pictures and that winds up with a picture like this where it's Internet it's a family action shut shot.

But the girls a little dark you can't we see what's going on and we think that well you know taking pictures.

That is what we do -- unique photo we.

We really try to work on getting you to turn the camera off the automatic mode getting to that get into the manual modes on the camera at a picture like that the camera senses the light.

In the area and doesn't realize that you really want a picture of the lovely young girl that's there.

And so what you do is you put the camera and a program Modi rotate that dial you -- the flash the fire in the camera at something called still flash did that thing with a little right -- the and then next -- you know.

With when you look at that you can actually see the detail on the ground it's beautiful picture right let's come down to the next month.

A lot of people are gonna be a plane and -- -- But I have gotten this picture many many times shooting the kids playing in the snow on automatic if -- everybody's a little blurry.

Yeah I mean this is one of those things to where you want to put the camera in its shutter priority mode because the camera will sense the bright snow the bright light.

And it won't pick a shutter speed which is fast enough and then when the children jump in the snow go up in the air.

People are so you have to force the shutter speed faster I would say a picture like this you're gonna shoot.

Maybe at thousands of the second OK and and if I don't know how to do the priority -- -- -- just going to like.

If it might cameras from icons I could switch around like it's a little thing absolutely a lot of the cameras today they have they have portrait -- sports mode all sorts of things like that they adjust the cameras really really well all right and they do -- they do a pretty good job okay now this would be in portrait mode it is it is.

-- nicely lighted but it's kind of awkward isn't it.

Well this is a little bit more of a sophisticated picture taking circumstance and this is why we obviously encourage you to -- -- -- hold a glass may be not the appropriate dress the kids -- -- kind of -- Betty have you never one of the things you want to do when you as a photographer -- you wanna control your subjects a little bit.

And you want to make sure that they don't do things that they wanna be photographed them because those photographs left forever and I'm not sure that the -- person and that photograph wants to have.

A glass -- -- -- wants to look like that and then the framing of the picture.

Really affects how.

So this is that kind of action you would like up a portrait to wind up bad.

But I you know it they're just seems to be -- different dynamic in this picture will.

What did the photographer tell these people that they didn't tell well he tried to get the expressions uniform in that picture they're all smiling they're all dressed the same he's framed it right we're not cutting -- heads off.

So you can see the picture provides a much more happy memory of what's gone on they don't look so happy in that picture you know can -- -- meanwhile it if you are like crap -- Clark Griswold he's been dead 25 days get ready for Christmas you got all your rights on your house.

You take that picture.

You know and if it's a little dark it probably should look more like this.

How do you get this instead of that OK a couple of things you need to do their first of all you need a timed exposure you need exposure that's a little longer than what the camera would set up.

In this case -- the camera focuses on the lights on the house -- it -- the camera into thinking the picture is brighter.

So you get a nice Canon T four I camera like that -- a man -- tried pot.

You set it up he said it into that shutter priority mode and you force the shutter to stay open a little bit longer it's called dragging the shutter and you're gonna get a much more composed picture.

Other shutter speed -- play with that a little bit but the other trick in that picture and this is a really really good tip is that this picture is taken sort of you have your Christmas -- you go out -- the feeling good -- you -- -- you take your -- -- picture of your lights.

This was taken right after sundown that's good and it that that you can see the blue -- that's correct.

How much but I you know I know the little point -- can be 5060 bucks if you want a nice camera right away and take fantastic pictures like this how much what I can NT four -- and 700 dollar 7800 dollar range.

But still it allows you to take a lot of variety of pictures is a more professional cameras the new Panasonic TH street is about a thirteen hundred dollar camera homeboy listen unique photos where he's -- you get to -- -- -- -- that's right -- new Jersey's largest camera store we have an amazing camera show the New Jersey camera show fifty vendors forty free classes this weekend.
