Among the flooding -- Newtown Connecticut to offer comfort and support.

Members of the Billy Graham rapid response team the ministry sent in a team of ten ministers trained in crisis counseling.

One of those -- -- Monday joins us now sir thank you so much for your time can you tell us what you found when you arrive there.

-- only arrived actually the day of the shooting live.

Our chaplains.

We found an incredible.

Community of suffering.

The agony that was there the shock that was there.

And as we do only good to disasters like this reversed charged with the authorities in the area the state please.

And -- fire folks over here to let them know we're here and ask how we can serve them.

And how do you even began to talk to these families whether they were directly impacted other members of this community which -- all feeling the grief at this point.

How do you talk them through where they are right now.

Well and a time like this it's really more about listening.

Is helping people to express themselves.

Much of our work at this point has been with the first responders.

And the chaplains that we brought in or also first responders as well police chaplains retired -- chaplains.

And today.

Just come along side to have what we were caught ministry of presence to let them know that we're here.

And make ourselves available to them and and many of those who were directly involved at the scene.

Really took to our chaplains and talk -- -- -- one on one basis.

Yeah because I would imagine along with and their families who have lost whether it's children -- an adult loved one.

The first responders and the people have to be there and work you're seeing this scene and handling.

I'm back aftermath I would imagine those are some of the folks that found most need some help whether -- as you said it's just listening at this point.

Your right and and what we're hearing is just horrific -- words to describe.

This scene.

Our heart just goes out to other families.

We -- -- organization.

Globally is -- As we know -- people are.

-- throughout this region.

And when we we were there we just recognized that really the only real hope that people can have.

Is -- the lord and much what we've been hearing on TV senators -- on faith.

And we recognize that this is a critical time for everyone -- really.

You know what God's comfort hope is all about.

And for a lot of people who maybe.

Eight for them is in a daily part of their life maybe it was at one point maybe it's something new for them.

Why do you think in times of crisis that we are so quick to turn to that place.

Well -- go through times like this you know we.

We really coming touch I think with the important things of life and and I think their relationship.

Experiencing God's comfort his hope.

-- what people see.

Whether anyone has been in church.

In the last ten years or -- there's something I think that's in their -- they realize there's a hole there.

And they are they turn to god and and ask us a lot of got questions we don't pretend to have all the answers.

But we do know there's a guy that loves and cares for them desires come along side it -- time that could be the darkest hour of their life.
