I think there were lessons learned -- it was my hope after April 20 1999.

The students who lost their lives and the teacher lost his life at Columbine High School would not die in vain.

And I know there have been security measures that were implemented as a result of Columbine High School.

And but as a result.

But some of the new procedures in place I think there have been several instances.

Since column mine that were stopped as a result of heightened awareness of school violence.

Yeah I mean if it sounds like they had done so many of the right things I mean they've installed the buzzer at the door the door was slot but the guy blew the window out and then somehow got in and that led to where we are now -- frank.

You know you've been there through this so they're going to be calls on Capitol Hill although today not appropriate.

For more gun control but when you look at Klebold and Harris what happened at your school it wasn't just about guns.

And I get asked that question most frequently especially.

When tragedies occur whether be at Virginia Tech -- -- Ohio and I truly believe what needs to be done is money needs to be spent.

-- figure out what is causing so much hate in the heart of these murders what caused so much hate in the heart of the to a column buying.

Or killer up at Virginia Tech.

And that's where money needs to be spent these these kids are crying out they do not come out of their mother's womb -- people and so I think schools and programs need to be developed to figure out what is causing the hate the provide the help that these kids are crying out for these murders are crying out for.

You know some of them just cannot be in the mainstream some of them have to be institutionalized.

And that we pulled away from that out of that which is hard.

It's very tough but we got to think about other people.

-- you walked into a hail of gunfire that day.

Most definitely.

And the thing that I found out about PD ST no one can predict what it's gonna happen -- column -- high school.

There were several who experienced it immediately experience should immediately.

But what I noticed over the years we had some teachers.

Staff members who were doing very well and then all of a sudden -- the ten year anniversary of the column mine tragedy.

They started experience PD ST.

And so it's unpredictable when it's going to occur but any time a tragedy does occur such as what happened.

On Friday it does traumatize people triggers are set off.

But -- it is something to deal with -- fortunately for me.

I was told by a close friend of the family the day after the Columbine tragedy closet and help others I had to help myself and I got into counseling immediately.
