There is no answer to why this happened today we just have to work together and stayed together and try to be a comfort and consolation for each other.
For these parents lost their hearts today and to try to reach out to them in and show them some care -- concern has is got to be our top priority.
That was monsignor Robert -- from saint rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church in Newtown Connecticut and he is among the many clergy members.
Who that community will turn to in the days and weeks and months ahead as they search for answers.
And with just one week until Christmas that test is going to be very painful joining me now to talk about the role of faith -- play in the healing process.
Joel and Victoria post -- Of the world renowned Lakewood church in Houston guys good to see a -- Merry Christmas to both the -- don't sanction I think I had the problem.
I said this is the begin the show I don't know what words you can't write words to help parents that lose kids like this I mean I'm I don't know I would never recover.
You did nothing you could ever say to me that whatever help me.
Yeah it's got to be the grace of god to get you through it and that's why you know.
We do with this situations like this not this tragic it in a big church all the time and you know and you've you've got a little -- and think you know locked away contagious -- got -- on the palm of his hand and.
Just turned two women.
Its interest -- meetings some of the famous we've talked to you know they feel that piece it's sells you know there's still said it's still tragic -- Scott has a way of getting you through these things well -- Gonna take time it's gonna take a lot of time in and you know being that it's a week before Christmas but.
You know it's it's it's right now like you said words can't make it cannot express it you can't tell anyone anything but you know what just being in -- you don't need this -- thing.
Just having people around you that -- you know in the nation is supporting you.
Has got to be a -- on.
-- that was supposed to was Christians forgive.
I don't think I'd be that forgiving.
I'm -- I'm trying to put -- it's very hard I can't imagine this pain.
Because I think this tops the list this is you -- -- child so many kills your kid.
I don't know how you get to that point and what Jesus did on the cross I know -- I don't but I'm not Jesus has a lot of people know serious but I I don't know how you do that.
Well I think.
Shown to you you've never been in that type of situations that you don't have the -- she can't understand and -- that coupled with the parents I was listening to today -- -- are you angry this that we haven't gone there with -- said one lady said I think it's because god doesn't allow.
-- to become so overwhelmed he says -- if I was angry too.
I would lose my mind and so I think -- gives you that grace and we can't I can't -- I couldn't fathom that myself but -- of phases of grief obviously go to and at some point that anger phase on -- can.
And -- dealt with the stuff when your ministry correct you -- you've dealt with parents that lost tickets.
Yeah and it's very and natural you don't expect to lose your child.
And that it is you go through the -- you go through the -- the thing that you can't do is get stuck at one.
And in one area yes so hopefully they'll find the help they'll find the assistance in the support to move through the process because.
When you think about it if that child could come back that's how would not want their parents stack.
You know pat -- in the palm of God's hand you know my encouragement to those -- is like this is hard this could take years and years but you know -- If you wanna get close -- your child just keep close to guide because your house with guys.
Now that's -- -- but you married are going to be married up past and now she's always with -- always ringer I think art's comments that you mean you still wasn't and I'm telling you guys for a long time it's funny -- didn't get away with the and it's a pain in the neck.
What's the what's the hardest thing you've ever had to counsel people -- What is that it.
Yeah you have aware of this and and the death of a child a teenager gets killed in automobile accident -- just.
Gone like that and there are no words -- side and you just got to mourn with those that mourn and we put those that we can just.
Be there to say God's gonna give it to Christ we took that we always some two shot think it's important.
He got to take it a day at a time -- BC I think you're I think being a pastor and obviously you're in the ministry -- well and the first responder and you're seeing all these things.
Somehow you've got to separate and compartmentalize heading into that.
You know it's not always easy you know -- for people to -- every week and a lot of them come down to the church because they're being treated for cancer center.
And some are not going nineteen analysts -- is an -- -- a great great place but you know.
My heart breaks with and I'll go back and.
We you know before -- -- -- mourn with those who mourn and now you celebrate with us to celebrate and you just try to be a support.
I think the thing to -- is we see a lot of over.
People that overcome that have you know this has been five years and now they're glad this is there a difference between mental illness and evil.
Well I don't know.
I don't know how at all you know maybe maybe you can be mentally ill and and allow -- to come in I don't know how that works that people are possessed some people.
I think they are I think there are mean we see -- you know all of that the Bible -- -- scripture talks about you you know some of these people they choose to dwell on the wrong things may choose to look at -- overtake him.
Well like a lot of -- you know your door pray for those facts they need -- offers absolutely.
