-- on -- governor Nikki Haley makes an announcement.

It's congressman Tim Scott an earlier time both governor Haley and senator designate Tim Scott went on record.

-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- Hey that Harry.

I'm fairly well -- this exciting debris stuck here I had this is the first African American.

Senator from the south since ATA one.

It is -- First African American GOP senator.

In the senate since about 197 that but I take it even those -- -- first that's not why you chose congressman -- is it governor.

Not at all I will tell you that what we were looking for for South Carolina and for the country.

Was -- leadership courage and passion and congressman Scott had shown leadership on the way he.

That the rapidly moved up through the house leadership without compromising his principles he showed true courage in the way they he.

Fought against raising the debt ceiling he continues to show passion and the way he watches out for the market and business climate in general.

And he's done all that in a way that is the may South Carolina very proud so while I get this minority female.

And has appointed this minority male I'm that's what everybody wants to talk about I want to remind everybody he earned this he -- this for the person that he is he earned this.

For the result -- proven.

And he will continue to earn -- for the leadership that he shows and with the only thing that we want you to take out of the minority situation and the fact.

That only in this country.

-- an -- named female become governor can an African American male becoming US senator.

Because -- every child no matter what race or gender can grow to be anything they want in this country.

Parents exciting -- if you tell me out whether the governor -- you what does -- say idiot.

What is news late yesterday evening actually when -- first -- called me and we haven't spent civil conversations in -- -- Have a conversation we spoke throughout 45 minutes then.

And as you sit well do you on BUS senator and of course my answer was you know.

Assuming different parts between the house and the senate -- what -- what do you expect.

Well I think well I hope that it would have been similarity which would be -- focus on the economic climate of our country the necessity for us to deal with our debt and our annual deficits.

-- a contrast will be there every few remembers -- will be more opportunities for us a voice our opinions -- that strong cross contrast with the majority party.

Which now on the house's Republicans are moving into the minority in this in this update that will shape my experience.

Drastically very differently.

Governor we've all been watching wondering who you're going to pick and other a lot of inching selections in your state -- At has been a lot of -- rumors and -- -- wasn't a tough decision.

Yes of course it was a tough decision because it's not.

Always a cut and dry you have to really thank you know for me it's a business decision it is.

Thanking three years five years ten years out and where our state is going on -- country is going and so when you want a fighter you want somebody that strong you want somebody has -- conservative principles it won't waver.

-- a time of pressure and so.

While we have great candidates in South Carolina and in attempt Scott stood at the forefront.

I'm very confident and -- abilities I'm very confident what he's gonna do for the people of this state and this country's gonna be so proud.

We have a great delegation and South Carolina and it just got better.

Cashman I mean when you first came to the house represents we were all very sad news stories very inspirational and you rose up from -- will poverty.

To be a member of the United States congress out.

Why -- -- -- so why -- been so successful what is it about you.

Well -- I really big comes down to a strong faith in the lord above number one number two is a mother who believe that sometimes love has to come at the end of -- switch.

-- you love me a lot of times the -- authority was a mentor who came along at the right time.

And he -- -- some very basic business principles about creating a profit not just having an income they're about creating jobs and not just having one.

Those that stuck with me my entire career in public service but it helped -- start my -- business help me to escape poverty and I think about the single moms out in America today and I'd love the -- hold on.

Don't give up the best is yet to come.

And one of the ways that we -- there is by getting government out of the way out of the pockets -- much as possible in America today we have a spending problem.

And we have not addressed that yet so I think that stands as an obstacle in the way of all Americans -- -- that we can fight the good fight of faith.

We will on the issue of economic development and dealing with.

Very very slow pace of our economy.

-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- Well as senator and that was with us today along with senator Graham and most of the delegation.

Was with us today and I think senator demand has said that his resignation date will be January 2.

And so we'll move forward and -- Heritage Foundation got a good one because that they -- just got lifted up but a big way.

Well so I -- -- exciting to see at all sorts of things went out of politics and about why things are exciting night in Washington.

Kevin you must be insidious this Bill Clinton but debate going down.

Yeah no doubt meant when you look at the reality of their conversation today we keep hearing -- conversation on revenues and we really need to have a conversation around spinning the challenge we face in America.

There's no matter what we do to increase taxes is simply will not have a did in our annual deficits much less.

The sixteen trillion plus dollars in our national debt so for us to close -- -- we're gonna have to have a serious conversation about spending reform.

A balanced budget amendment and if we started -- that part of the conversation we would make more progress from my perspective.

Our leadership has a difficult task on their hands on both sides of the aisle but the -- that the American the truth of the matter is that America.

Deserves a very bright future and that requires spending restraint.

-- and I did have a hole in your ride that conveyor delegation passerby says I assume that that will be filled and -- -- it was -- by special election.

Yes that'll be a special elections senator -- resigns January 2.

-- into the primary will be held eleven weeks from that point.

The runoff will be held two weeks from that point and at the end of eighteen weeks total will be the general election.

-- we watch CNN congratulations to you out congressman Scott governor it's always nice to see if you.

That's always legacies is at a bank.
