As alert the -- Ghazi attacked fallout right now on Capitol Hill senators are grilling top State Department officials.

Buying a blistering report that faulted management primarily.

-- says State Department.

For inadequate security of our American Consulate on September the eleventh.

At least one State Department staffer has already been shown the door a lot of folks asking if that is -- tokens firing in something that has much more.

Far reaching issues -- three others though we're told could soon follow.

In terms of heads that it -- roll -- secretary at the State Department but our chief intelligence correspondent Catherine Herridge live from Capitol Hill this morning to -- and what are we expecting and this hearing to that.

Well good morning.

Is the policy -- the administration's -- why was it that the Obama administration.

David this -- security footprint in Ben Ghazi when it was clearly in conflict.

With the intelligence picture on the ground there were at least when he documented threats or incidents in -- Ghazi prior to the 9/11 attack.

And we may get more visibility on that this morning from two of Secretary Clinton senior deputies.

William burns and Thomas -- short time ago we heard from the democratic chairman of this committee Senator John Kerry who is the presumptive nominee.

For secretary of state.

I know how deeply she feels importance of the discussion that we're having today.

And I assure you it is not her choice that she is not here today and she looks forward to appearing before the committee.

In January I want to make that clear.

Secretary Clinton has agreed to come up to Capitol Hill for public hearings by the middle of January.

She has also made available this full independent report called in -- ability review board.

To the congress but it is worth noting that on at least two critical dates that first Sunday after the 9/11 attack and the Sunday talk shows.

As well as as open testimony on Capitol Hill this week Secretary Clinton has been unavailable Martha for various reasons.

Indeed and that's something that's you'll no doubt be asked why that was why she didn't want -- -- either the front person to speak out.

On all of this so we have a hearings today where we're just learning captain that there's some very heated exchanges going on -- hearings.

Senator Bob worker is involved in one of those were gonna play that for everybody just a little while.

But the big question is after the -- where does this investigation go out.

Well I think there at least a four tracks to this investigation this is really the beginning of the second chapter.

First and foremost is that testimony from Secretary Clinton.

Expected now in the middle of January because only she can address this missing policy piece why it was.

That we had this limited security footprint on the ground when it showed this rising threat from al-Qaeda and these other Islamist groups.

Second is -- Justice Department or criminal investigation.

We heard from the head of the House Intelligence Committee yesterday Mike Rogers.

That that investigation is essentially know where the third piece is the size the depth and breadth of the CIA operation.

And enforce a fourth and perhaps foremost.

Are the quality of these warnings and are reporting at fox we were able to show that there was an emergency meeting.

In Ben -- one month before the attack that was passed on to headquarters here in Washington.

And they actually foreshadowed the very way those four Americans would die in a coordinated assault by islamists more.

Some disturbing Catherine thank you very much we're watching you know.
