In the wake of the awful shootings at the sandy hook elementary school that has of course being a great deal.
Discussion not all of gun control legislation President Obama held that news conference in the White House briefing room yesterday.
In which he said he wants concrete proposals from this panel he's empowering.
In January and he wants then to include some of those proposals in his inaugural address.
The media has been covering it a great deal adjusting Duff come up told radio news service.
In our daily biased fast thinks that this is all -- to -- -- liberal agenda on guns Justin.
Although I wouldn't pay it and that kind of black and white term.
You know I understand a lot of the emotional responses from the pundits -- you you know speaking as a private citizen not a journalist I am open -- gun control.
But I think in many instances the media has gone too far by injecting their personal opinion and more importantly their personal emotions into this discussion.
On MSNBC this week we saw Thomas Roberts who is an anchor.
And not one -- there you know editorial people going on and asking a congressman who gave a pretty middle of the road response against gun control.
Wanting Americans to be complacent and the fact that we can send our school children to be assassinated.
Now that is a pretty heavy accusation to -- -- any congressman especially one who wasn't really getting a fire and brimstone response to gun control.
Right and I'm Justin as you say it's it's a very emotional issue particularly in the wake of something as all full.
As the killings that said sandy hook elementary and they'll lose did -- MSNBC anchor is that you mention.
They don't make a pretense.
Of being.
Non biased.
I mean it's not like anybody watching that would necessarily be surprised.
I've -- I mean is it wrong with -- anchors who -- clearly on the opinion side of things to express an opinion on this issue.
I'll why as a mention that was supposed to be their news programming but I always under -- right.
But the same time you know gun control is going to be a major -- his legislative issue come 2013.
And the media owes it to the public to give.
A more nuanced approach than you know -- lashing out and demonizing those who may come -- it from a more controversial stance than a lot of them would prefer.
All right and you just laid -- my lack of watching MSNBC all of -- -- -- I have no idea -- that particular -- -- so -- -- let's -- -- this.
The it's going to be an issue.
Through much of next year -- the president's trying to get these proposals.
On the table very quickly but then not going to get tossed quickly so this is a debate we don't have for a long time within the -- in -- -- It absolutely is I would not be surprised if gun control turns into this year's Health Care Reform.
It's going to be something that is going to be.
Bogging -- a lot of people drawing a lot of lines in the sand.
And we are going to hear a lot of public debate and a lot of that is gonna be guided by the media and going into it we really need to have a sort of clear eyed approach to this.
That really prevents.
A lot of you know needless name calling her finger pointing yeah -- -- that really doesn't help and assuming a most Americans can agree on.
Very good point Justin -- come of told radio news service good points.
As always Justin and others can be seen on FOX News Watch to -- an 11:30 PM eastern on Saturdays hosted by John Scott discussing.
All of these kind of issues -- great to -- adjusted -- have a very Merry Christmas I'll see you in the media.
Think -- -- all right.
