Hi and welcome to foxnews.com.

And 411 -- -- so glad that you're here with us today.

I'm Laura -- taking you through these thirty minutes of entertainment news.

And we have a lot to get to today's -- wanna get right to it in energy is our first guests who are joining me here on set I'm so thrilled to have him here today because.

This is a much buzzed about documentary we're about to talk about celebrity.

This is Kevin Masur and attrition Nolan Kevin is the director and could co producer of celebrity and also.

Known from around the world is a rock -- a photographer and -- a lot of your work in the past attrition on co producer of celebrity as well.

Thank you both for being here today thank you adolescents suffer people who haven't heard about the buzz about this documentary let's talk about what it is why you started it and we're going to be and it.

Celebrity is documentary basically explore.

The good the bad the ugly our culture's obsession with celebrity and where technology is brought it today.

And it's it.

Roundtable discussion basically between everybody in this industry from the celebrities to paparazzi to people in the industry and regular people -- tree.

It's it has changed quite a bit for -- we've seen.

You know you go back and even in this movie's trailer you know you go you see kind of those old black and white -- So what you know Hollywood starlet has to be -- and you see the way some celebrities are literally hunted.

Now it is and how -- -- all changed what got you involved with us.

Well I mean -- got some pretty infectious energy and enthusiasm and he had the initial idea and he came to mean we talked about it and and it was you know it's just an exciting.

Opportunity to be able to sort of step back and kind of look at the forest for the trees and not necessarily focus on just paparazzi -- celebrity.

But to actually sort of look at where we are culturally.

With a pop culture and our celebrity culture and you know we think it really -- about at all I mean and you know ultimately like I think of the film.

People find it to be a really fun roller coaster ride through the universe of celebrity I mean we go back we show.

Charlie Chaplin getting mobbed at a train station -- this footage that's never seen -- -- today.

Which actually looks very similar to what happens to Jessica Simpson in the opening sequence.

So something's actually haven't changed all that much although the speed of it and the voracious appetite I think on behalf of the consumer.

It's definitely exploded right and you know we'll we'll look at.

And that question of the you know where we are now what did you find out in -- -- -- record that.

How this is changed to where we are today -- for celebrities announce the wild wild west with the Internet and regular people on the streets with their phones so it's out of control it and and studios.

Back in the day used to have so much control over their audits and publicist.

That it's the controls gone right now we are especially with -- still -- you know polls say don't do this -- -- it.

Friends and hanging out here just close and -- you know you've done that you know tidal wave of photographers on your hands.

And go ahead how while love things I think I really learned is that we.

I mean it's fine to aspire to do certain things that I think that as a spillover effect we have a generation of kids coming up who just want to be rich and famous for the sake of being rich and famous.

And I think that's really an important thing -- culturally.

We don't have young kids or the vast majority of young kids are not coming up saying I wanna be a doctor I -- be a lawyer I want to achieve XYZ.

There's -- to be like -- -- Jersey insurance won't be rich and famous.

That's right it could put a video on YouTube and you know that's you know maybe some recognition.

And what is the difference between I mean you've got -- let's just say like a real movie star like Tom Cruise.

And then you've got maybe the Kardashians are reality show like that and the type of attention that they get is it it can be equal right.

Is equal or are you.

So yeah.

It's it.

It's in certain situations it is equal but it's it's different crafts and Tom cruises and -- there and -- reality -- -- it now and Tom.

Goes out he does is craft and then goes out and promoted with Kim Kardashian she's doing just our normal -- every day things -- scripted.

But she also uses the media through and the paparazzi so you know in the film we show -- she tweets where she is.

And -- -- there's 4050 paparazzi where she's getting her nails done.

Right -- we actually do have a clip off from that film a celebrity let's go ahead take a look at that I have a little girl.

I mean this -- -- her and I don't really and he mind.

Because -- I don't want to get I miss.

Because -- needs and it happens millions.

The little girl as a teacher tell -- emphatic four years old.

We are you kidding yeah.

I think the magazines and media.

It's a breeding ground for that.

Where eight people plus in style -- -- they always do when you have this -- golf.

Goal.

All right there we are taking a look at -- film clip of celebrity this documentary.

Brought to spy Kevin Masur -- -- An Allison looks through the trailer and and we know that there are some big names.

In this somehow you get through some of the celebrities.

Who are -- how to get them to talk to they don't like talking about the so -- right.

-- so we interviewed.

Jennifer Aniston Sarah Jessica Parker markets and Jennifer Lopez show for a Kid Rock.

Elton John and some high and -- Arquette while then how much people in the industry but.

You know I've.

I approached them in a lot of celebrities they want to do with who was a bashing on paparazzi.

They didn't want us to do a documentary that's been gone and they didn't want to be like woe is me I'm -- celebrity.

You know -- -- paparazzi chasing me we wanted to do -- intelligent conversation let everybody speak their piece.

And you don't -- -- point.

-- And -- what did you find in talking an -- in that being the co producer on this film -- what did you find by integrating.

Those different points of view.

I do you think you know the way that the story is told it really it gives us a wide variety of everybody's point of view.

What the company wherever -- agree I mean it's kind of pretty impossible -- -- so and the thing is that you know Kevin.

Obviously is close to a lot of the celebrities and he -- makes his living as a photographer.

In the entertainment industry but.

So it was important for us -- try to step back as much as we could -- conversation where we could bring the parties to the table.

And let them sort of hash it out and you decide for yourself as a viewer.

Where you fall as far as who you agree went to -- and you know where you think though the line should be drawn in the sand.

Right so I mean you know they honestly listen you can really oversimplify this and say.

For those who will because I'm sure it will happen how it's gonna be celebrities crying and complaining -- whining and -- feel sympathetic for them when there.

You know I mean they're living the life of Reilly.

But the reality is it's actually.

Not really what's going on I mean we talk about what their experiences and we do ask some very pointed questions like for Jennifer Aniston.

You know she did a spread in GQ where she scantily clad so we said.

Because people want to know.

Why is that any different.

Than somebody taking a picture -- you.

But when your bikini by Israel in your backyard can you explain the difference and she does she says one is my job we've agreed this is -- -- take place.

It's something beautiful on artistic and the others like somebody got -- Kendra breaks in the uninvited so you know I mean there's.

There's -- arguments being made on ice.

All sides fascinating look at celebrity and celebrity is spelled with a dollar sign.

But we are looking for celebrity on Twitter which we want you to deal a look for a just with an S at celebrity.

And also you can go to there's a website that we've been showing you there it is right there Kevin I've got to wrap it up -- just and what you want people to take away from us when they associate the movie premieres went.

It January 11 a candid in theaters and video on demand terrific and and so when you what does it take what you want people to do what was it this way it.

The way we always say it's like food and -- -- -- -- I know where my food came from right now.

People understand where all these images come from and how to end up in the glossy magazine.

And I think it's important for people that -- really think about where they're placing value right.

Right very good point all right so we encourage everyone to.

Go to the web -- go see the film again and on demand.

And follow these two on Twitter as well Kevin Masur director and co producer of celebrity and traditional one co producer.

Of the -- loves to a great documentary can't wait to see that what's really fascinating thing and thank you so much for being with us today -- all right we'll see guys in January.
