So we're gonna move forward to Los Angeles now.

And talk about some movies and it's Friday.

It's movie time you know what that means -- -- -- use your editor in chief of rotten tomatoes dot com.

I you can follow mad at match city and at rotten tomatoes on twit -- And we want to talk about the final ratings to -- man.

Was some certified freshness on your tomato meter so we've got a full screen want to put up and show our viewers.

About what is happening in the movie world.

OK and then we're going to skip -- scramble we're just gonna introduce you and say Mac.

What is -- here we go the certified freshness -- -- opening the weekend.

1221.

The tomato meter create -- we're talking about Jack creature this is forty and big guilt trip tell us about these movies.

Well Jack creature is the latest with Tom Cruise and you know talkers.

For all of the stuff that happens in his life that adds up to the tabloids you put him in the right movie.

You remember that there is a reason he is a movie star.

Jack creature is one of those reasons.

This movie he plays a guy.

Who is and former military cop who kind of lives off the grid so to speak.

Comes in because somebody thinks he.

Has been wrongly accused of Jack creature comes -- trying to get his -- hands off.

-- and it's a it's an action movie and Tom Cruise is pretty great to add -- the critics mostly like it.

It's in the low sixties on the tomato meter which is fresh it's not a ringing endorsement but.

You can't really deny the Tom Cruise is great here -- really carries a movie that otherwise would probably end up.

Relatively for got a ball from you know with anyone else Daria now I should warn people.

This movie.

You know for people that are that are still really sensitive about the the events that happened last Friday the terrible events that happen in Connecticut.

This movie starts off with he's shooting it was too late for anyone to actually change beginning this week.

When he starts off with -- a kind of a person shooting random people so be aware of that going into it but you know the critics mostly like at 62% on the tomato meter.

Does this movie not that he was doing when he started having troubles with Katie Holmes.

As this this is -- I know he.

He might have bad that this.

You know the timing would be right that he would be off shooting about that -- You know it it's probably you know likely would have been something that they were shooting earlier this -- so well at that point you know you figure.

You know W figure that you know like whether I mean not to armchair quarterback somebody's relationship but at that point you know as they're breaking up things opposed -- going south before that anyway right -- Right I just remember seeing some stills of him on set.

When they were talking about his latest movie so I guess this is probably it.

All right so we also -- where we have a some funny movies to talk about this is forty where does not stack up because this is -- this is a follow up movie sort of -- Yes this is as sequel of sorts to knocked up if you're -- knocked up and although it was about Seth -- character and you know his experience becoming -- -- the father with Catherine cargo.

There was a subs there was kind of a second story -- about this married couple.

Played by -- -- and Paul Rudd and this movie this is forty is focused on that married couple.

I Leslie Mann plays the wife of a Paul run as the husband.

Was again who's married to the director John -- -- tower and there are real life kids play.

The couple's daughters in this -- so it's definitely a family affair I thought this movie was really funny.

But it goes on a little long it's two hours and almost twenty minutes long which is really long for a comedy.

And the critics are kind of a problem -- -- -- really split of the tomato meter only about 52%.

What what are the things that I you know the way to explain that how that manifests itself is that you get two point.

Probably partly through the movie where you think OK well you know about a hour and half -- this is probably the start -- upstairs and then it goes on for another forty minutes.

Now those scenes are funny but it.

It's just come along and and I think that the biggest complaint here.

Okay what I have I have to ask you just for one line on the guilt trip because we've been putting it up and -- want to get to what's coming out next week.

-- their big -- just real quick what is the guilt trip with Barbara Streisand and Seth -- life.

And the critics about wild about it 37% of its -- they say it's not really as funny as it should be.

And kind of a disappointment unfortunately.

How -- OK we'll -- next week there are a couple of really big films talk about we wanna ask you about those as well.

-- jingle and change is probably the big one that's you know Tarantino's latest.

I really liked this movie and the critics are really liking it too it's 95% of the tomato -- certified fresh.

It's it's got all of the elements that you'd expect out of a Tarantino felt that dialogue is great he's got really good casting great performances from.

Jamie fox -- Christoph Waltz and probably some of the best performances we've seen of a long time from -- and art from Leonardo DiCaprio and Sam Jackson's.

This movie I should -- people this is another one that gets extremely.

Violent at -- at the end of the movie.

But I thought it was a really solid film and you know is.

You know as much as it's kind of adventure movie has some funny moments.

The last half of the -- film really has some unflinching look -- slavery that you wouldn't necessarily expect out of me that Tarantino.

And -- is so many people are talking about this at -- I walked to Times Square today.

On the saw the billboards and this is a much anticipated movie coming out of musical right.

Of sorts.

Yes this is this is based on the Broadway is -- very popular Broadway Show.

-- people I think that if you are looking forward to this if you're a fan of the musical you're probably really gonna like this.

I went into this not really excited about it the first half of it.

Try to convince me in spite of myself I think the performances from Hugh Jackman and -- Hathaway are really great.

I don't know the Russell Crowe is necessarily in their league as a singer.

But the first half the movie's fantastic the second one got a little tedious for me.

But as I said if you're huge fan of this musicals very true to that and I think you're gonna have a great time at the critics mostly like it's in the -- -- in the low seventies last I looked on the perimeter.

So -- -- pretty well not you know not overwhelming endorsement but.

You know -- if you're a fan you're gonna have a good time here.

And everybody does their -- singing right.

Yes everybody does their -- -- while the difference here is that.

They they did something that they hadn't done for decades which is they recorded these actors singing.

While they were onset typically what happens is as the singing gets -- -- later.

But the -- recorded on set so there's an imperfection to it actually really adds to the performances that makes the much more -- Well okay.

Very good so we want to look for all of this of course on the tomato meter.

All these films and of course a lot more on your website and we want to put it up right now so people can.

Bookmark it and put it in there.
