But the fiscal cliff is -- and now congress has gone home for the holidays and President Obama has left for Hawaii without a deal in place but with only nine days left now is it too late.

Member of the House Budget Committee congresswoman Marsha Blackburn this now -- -- thank you very much for joining us.

Chair before we get under way I would love to play for you right now the president's words just before he departed on his Hawaiian vacation.

Serious.

So.

As we leave town for a few days to be -- our families.

For the holidays I hope it gives service and prospective.

The -- cool off.

-- but it can.

-- -- meg not.

Have some Christmas purpose.

Sentencing some Christmas carols.

Enjoy the company of loved ones.

And it congressman just after.

He said that the senator Jeff Sessions of Alabama said this and I -- quote President Obama today gave yet another speech about the fiscal with no plan.

Nothing that can be scored or analyze just not a speech.

If President Obama which -- to avoid the fiscal -- then he with all the power and influence he holds as the leader of this nation must submit to congress in legislative form.

A plan that he believes can pass both chambers of congress bipartisan support.

No more secret meetings and pointless press conferences your reaction to both of those.

How well -- -- yes.

I do agree with senator session should have backroom deals they never work out well.

And I -- commend speaker Boehner for allowing the house to work its will and to work our regular order.

We have sent all the -- that this and it needs to address this the first one went over on.

-- can't which was reconciliation.

August 1 was our tax.

Extenders.

The third was on hours sequester and then you finished in September with the path for tax reform.

Well on Harry Reid's -- he can pick up whatever he wants now for the precedent.

To think that just.

Taking a break from the discussions will solve the issues I I don't understand what he thinks is going to come from that.

Because we have had -- -- bills over there my goodness we even pass a budget.

And you're going on for years with the senate not even passing a budget.

Inaction.

Has been the choice of this in it leadership.

And choices have consequences.

And -- -- consequences.

If the American people are.

Facing this fiscal collapse it is going to happen on January 1 sack on.

And it's happening because then have not done their job so.

The president should be speaking to Harry Reid in the senate and saying come on man get busy with this take up one of those -- -- take up.

The tax Extenders this is what I'm looking for this is what where.

We're going to work with you -- but you know what that's not bloody -- You know in the negotiations leading up to the creation of the super committee back in and in twentieth eleven speaker Boehner spoke very frankly about the president's negotiating habits that he -- he was not.

A good negotiator Bob Woodward in his recent book.

Pretty much describe the same thing that the present was a bit out of touch and then we see a statement like the president just made.

Before he departed on his vacation is is seen refusing to leave this -- perhaps he wants to go over the fiscal -- Well you know -- that's a very interesting point.

I think it may be he does want to go up with the fiscal trip cliff because it's how he gets what he wants higher tax rates on everybody and extra cuts on defense.

But.

And allied -- eliciting a certain response.

In the house we have had bipartisan support.

On the -- to extend taxes to deal with the sequester this thing -- on Harry Reid's desk we would like to see action.

From the president and the senate.

-- when black.

-- thank you very much great to see you we hope you have a primary America dishing yet.
