I thank you very much saying goodbye to the Golden State can you believe that such a wonderful state.
Over the past two years more than 100000.
California residents have actually fled the state of California for areas with lesser taxes.
But is this a preview of what's to come nationwide.
As Americans across the country may soon see higher taxes themselves.
-- joining us now is former California State assemblyman chuck DeVore chuck good to see you.
You know this is a tough time for the people of California because they've seen so much in taxes it's already an expensive area.
Which -- -- away from the area.
Well it exactly that California now has the highest taxes in the nation they just tripled the car tax.
And what the people who run California don't understand is that people don't work to pay taxes.
And and increasing taxes and passing more laws isn't going to make what ails California better.
You know shut do you here at the top of the game out there politically you're a force to be reckoned with actually helping a lot of people in California.
From the Republican Party side what do you think went wrong in California what cause this kind of massive tax hikes causing people to have a man expect mass exodus.
Will California now has very large government it has government spending it almost 40% more as a -- of the economy.
Then does Texas where -- now live.
A California has the most welfare recipients in the nation.
And it also has now the highest poverty rate almost one quarter of Californians are living in poverty and I think what.
What went wrong.
Is that they they are operating under this misconception that more taxes and bigger government and more programs.
Will somehow help out and in fact just the opposite is the case they're driving the productive people out of the state they're losing their tax base.
And they're losing their middle class so once you lose your middle yes she can't have people move to a level of creating jobs.
What would that -- -- that plunged to states' future in stood economic abyss.
It is not a pretty picture in California.
You know Warren Buffett used to have a beachside house in my old district in Laguna Beach -- I used to represent Laguna Beach very nice place.
And what the liberals often say is well if you increase taxes.
You know the the Hollywood moguls in the Silicon Valley tycoons -- -- can leave the state.
And you know the right probably a lot of them will stay in the states drinking -- -- -- can't afford to live exactly that the people who can't afford to live there.
-- leave the working people the people who own small businesses -- people with degrees the upper middle class.
There -- leaving the state in the rose and they're going to places like Texas where there's no income tax doing what what I did.
And what a lot of liberals don't understand is that Warren Buffett has a house -- mild district in Laguna Beach if he doesn't -- -- California looks stunning just a question he doesn't take elsewhere national taxes and yet let's look at this nationally.
Because we're seeing the government move that way we are here we are on the edge.
A falling off this fiscal cliff what would that do for the average American who can say.
I who will say I can't pay these taxes anymore -- -- -- go what do I do.
Well that that is a difficult to issue because obviously you the average American isn't going to move out of the country.
To escape taxes but what will happen is people will get discouraged -- will work less hard -- to -- Less risk -- earn less money.
And again this goes back to the issue that the central core fallacy of big government liberals.
They don't seem to get it that people don't work to pay taxes that's not why people work people work to -- for the future.
Two send their kids to college two to buy stuff to live comfortably but they don't work for the government.
And -- of course establish a legacy for their children to make sure that future generations in this country can move forward and have a great prosperous nation.
As we are in fact entitled to because we've worked for it.
And it wasn't given as head right out shot to board thank you sir.
