Rand Paul insisting it will be hard to get his -- we spoke with senator -- on Capitol Hill.
-- -- Threw him.
I so fiscal -- many people back to Washington should the American people be angry at this processors this the legislative sausage is made and we should just be.
Well I guess I'm a little annoyed because I was here last week for a whole week and we did nothing all week long and -- wonder you know if the Democrats have a proposal.
Why don't they put a proposal forward and let's see if Republicans can agree to it.
But you know they need to be part of the process and so far I haven't seen much give on the part of the Democrats you're senate majority leader Harry Reid said today that the house is acting with the dictatorship of the -- -- -- -- get.
Yeah I'm not sure what that means necessarily.
But I do know that the tax rates are going to expire.
When my favorite analogies that are races are so it's like a hundred people were drowning.
And you gonna save nine.
My question is -- there all drowning right.
Which means that raising taxes is a bad thing for every one.
So why would we only do it on to what can save 98% from a tax increase.
But why would drowning beyond policy what would be be in favor of a policy of drowning.
You know raising taxes sounds -- is a bad thing for ever wondered why are they so insistent that we raise taxes on someone.
You get any there's a discussion going on in the senate amendment I turn on the TV I see a different senators take the -- -- -- speaking.
I don't the other senators who might be there are to the American people but what -- -- in the halls here at the US and our people talk and discussion negotiated trying to work on solutions.
I think that the way it's been set up visits for a few people in leadership and always joke that I have to ask people in the media.
Hey what's going on with the fiscal cliff thing.
Because we don't really feel -- part of it -- him.
And here today -- -- important thing out here discussing the Fourth Amendment which I think is important was the Fourth Amendment should -- a year.
Email all your texting and your Internet searches and I think that is -- I was here not -- -- physical -- of we're talking about something that I care deeply about and that's the Fourth Amendment that it should be protected for things you -- on your computer.
I that's doing this -- -- it's January 2 we'll see many different -- January 1 or December 31 most Americans.
You know I think that most people think there's -- certain inevitability that the president won the election he wants to raise taxes he controls the -- and he controls the White House.
So what I keep saying is Democrats will probably win they'll try get their way either this year or next year.
And we will get higher taxes.
But it'll be a bad thing for the economy -- be a bad thing for job creation.
And in the end may not even do what he wants because sometimes you raise rates and you get less revenue.
What happened in England a couple of years ago they raise rates they got less millionaires they got less revenue in -- -- -- -- course now.
We have many examples in our country of lowering rates and getting more revenue.
Reagan did it and -- the bush tax cuts in 2003.
Lower grades and got more revenue and the rich paid a higher percentage so I don't think what he's -- with a wooden ones to -- will work.
And I think he'll be counterproductive.
I'd seen different plans to talk about it at ten year period of time right that's what these plans there.
Is there anything to -- -- the plan -- adopted.
Now for ten years.
Is there any need to prevent like two years now than -- when it comes back in Washington house of the senate and they just scrap the last eight years that that ten years -- really meaningless.
-- there's not there's two main problems were projecting things over ten years one.
There historically bad -- projections they can't predict what's gonna happen next year much less ten years.
And then the other thing is your right future congresses can change.
Look last year when we had the big debt ceiling -- -- and we had the budget control act and everybody was worried about that.
We passed a budget it's likely set limits on spending we've seen him all the time and more we bring up a point -- -- they sell well we decided that we don't care anymore.
A year later so they don't Obey their own rules it's really why people are so frustrated with congress is that we pass rules ourselves.
Like we're supposed to read the bills and print them up and put them on line.
We just disobey the -- we -- a majority just votes and says.
We don't care.
We're gonna hit the debt -- very soon -- to questions number one.
Would you agree for any reason to raise a -- of -- Number two is if we hit the debt ceiling does this mean that Americans are not going to get their tax refunds.
When they apply for them in January February and march when I was at any delay.
I would raise the debt ceiling under one condition and that would be a balanced budget amendment of the constitution.
People in congress those who have -- up here they don't deserve to manage any more money they're doing a bad job managing the money they have.
We should not send them anymore money they're not to be trusted with money -- -- Wouldn't extend their borrowing and so we need to be limited -- -- we are limited -- our spending.
And so if they agree to have balance budget amount not greater residents of some sort of hardcore on this it's so hard to get my and I -- the tax refunds maybe delayed I'm not I'm not sure on that I think there are a lot of ways government could be run even on just receipts are coming -- We bring in about 70% of what we need.
So the prime government could be prioritizing without raising the debt ceiling you had expended on the things are absolutely the most necessary.
We might quit spending three million dollars to study monkeys on methamphetamine.
300000 -- to study robotics -- being bitten by rattlesnakes.
Half a million dollar spent on developing a menu for what food we might like to eat on Mars -- a lot of waste of his into the canal sent an -- -- thank you.
