Where are talking about our federal government of course we're talking about Warren county Ohio somehow lawmakers there have managed to keep the -- that county debt free.

While growing their population and guess what they say it's easy.

How do you do it in Warren county Ohio.

Well we try to keep it simple commissioner pat south and Tom -- myself.

We really don't think this government stops all that hard part is being out of a job not being able to make your mortgage payment heart is having a sick child.

Running a government and state living within your means not hard so really the folks in Washington should.

Try to put aside some of their own petty concerns and say let's be a statesman let's step up and try to do what's right for the country.

So I didn't how did you do -- did you raise taxes yeah I -- -- looks like you have a a projected twenty million dollar reserve fund for next year.

Yes essentially we try to do balanced growth were.

The western southern tennis tournament is our house in Warren county but what we try to do is actually Foster an environment where people and businesses want to come to Warren county.

So we actually have the lowest.

Marginal tax rates of the surrounding counties.

And we try to Foster this environment where we know.

We can only do so much and in government so essentially we don't try to do all things to all people.

So in a lot of ways we say no more than we say yes which I think is one of the keys and government.

It is not just thinking about your own political vested interest in trying to you know -- it's easy to make friends in politics by saying yes everybody.

You know if you think that that checkbook is not really yours -- the taxpayers -- someone else's and you can.

Pass out money like it's candy everybody in the world Columbia -- when you sit around with somebody in the eye and say no they tend not to like you but we've got the ability to do that -- -- count -- a lot of -- -- having a hard time because the unions how how is your union contract to be renegotiated in the nose.

Or are those that were put in place years ago that -- There's still okay -- -- with your with your budget.

But for the most part we've got a good working relationship with our employees they really try to be partners with us.

And actually a lot of our folks we try to be good to our employees so most of our employees are actually not in a union.

So our sheriff's union is our sheriff's deputies or any union.

We've got certain two or three other smaller unions -- -- accounting but for the most part we try to take care of our employees.

And they don't see the need to unionize and -- -- counting all right last question well one piece advice to the people in Washington DC trying to fix our fiscal house right now.

Essentially live within your means and it's always vote to be.

Fiscally conservative when things get tough.

Broke the way you really get financially solid -- be fiscally conservative all the time.

Saved that's why we have a 22 million dollar surplus -- side of Warren county.

Have not laid anybody off.

And have great just great environment for people raise their families and run a business timely today -- -- -- take -- commission warned county Ohio ethics are.
