It's.

Extremely disturbing new photos from North Korea satellite photos showing North Korea has not repair damage to its nuclear test facility and is now ready to conduct another nuclear test that is.

If it wants to.

So there should be worried.

Not -- Patrick is the author of the brand new focus keep from North Korea she joins us now me your thoughts tonight about the repetitive reports about the new.

Nuclear -- that that they may possibly be repairing their nuclear testing.

Well given the past history of of North Korea's nuclear test the reports -- seem very credible.

In 2006.

And 2009.

North Korea conducted nuclear tests in each case just a few weeks after testing a long range missile.

And of course North Korea tested a long range missile just two weeks ago so if he follows its usual pattern.

A nuclear test is soon to come.

All right now I -- -- North Korea's new book I've read it it's a great book and I'm curious having done all the research that you did -- -- What surprised you most about what you've learned about North Korea.

You know Greta thank you for that compliment unreal what surprised me most was that I -- I knew a lot about.

North Korea before I started reporting and were searching the book.

And I'm it's far worse than any -- could possibly imagine.

The north Koreans who escaped from North Korea are really the only good news story about North Korea that is a few people are getting out.

And they're performing an incredibly useful function by educating the world about what life ordinary life in North Korea's like.

About the concentration camps there.

About the political prisons where three generations the family.

Can be imprisoned for so called political crimes.

And about how the machine uses food as a weapon for ordinary people just to keep them in line to control them.

Don't even better outside North Korea to even go there that's what I've never understood because they're hermetically sealed that there they don't know any.

I don't even know them to go any place.

Well this is something.

Else that is happening thanks to that people -- escaped.

Think about it if you if you are an immigrant to any country.

The first thing you want to do is let your family and friends know that how you doing any in your new home but things -- like there.

And so too with a few north Koreans who have gotten out.

-- finding ways to get information back to North Korea you can't send a letter you can't make an ordinary phone call.

You can't send a text message or an email.

So what do they do.

They hired couriers -- from China who walk into North Korea.

And hand deliver -- -- verbal messages -- verbal messages to their families that Chinese Corel will knock on the door.

And towel.

A person's family that he's okay and bring him news.

About life in China or if he's moved to the United States or South Korea or some such place news about that country.

And then the X-Files who escaped.

Also are doing things like setting up radio stations in South Korea that broadcast information -- -- to North Korea.

So there I don't know.

Didn't -- they're beginning north Koreans have been kidding to be empowered by information.

And let us -- empowered by information.

The hope is that they will demand more from their machine.

And I got to go and it's a great -- Melanie thank you for joining us.

And coming up.
