Anger and disbelief in congress last night the house decided not to allow a vote on the super storm.
Sandy relief bill that would send aid to millions of storm victims that decision sending shockwaves.
Through the entire New York area delegation.
Everybody played by the rules -- tonight.
The -- pull out from under is absolutely inexcusable absolutely indefensible with a moral obligation to hold it was moment.
This this week.
We cannot turn our -- -- act so innocent who need us.
I have to go home and tell them -- New Year's gift is that they get a week even longer.
Even longer.
For something they should have had.
Over a month ago this is an absolute disgrace.
And the speaker should hang his head in shame for not allowing this to come up.
Joining me now in New York congressman Peter King he is also chairman of the homeland security committee and I have to ask what were they thinking congressman.
I -- was just actually indefensible -- inexcusable.
We have been meeting on talk about myself congressman Graham -- which will be under the new York New Jersey delegations.
Leave you with a Republican leadership with Governor Cuomo Governor -- Mayor Bloomberg we will promise that this vote was coming up.
Every penny that had that was asked for was documented every document they -- we gave them.
We were told everything was fine was actually on the on the the house web -- the bill was going to be -- -- And then last night we started the idea that maybe was going to be pulled maybe wouldn't be held.
We confronted John Boehner on the floor and asked him he goes away to a physical folders over we'll take -- we were told it was 99% certain.
Then no one even told us to speak to walked off the floor told an -- to the majority leader that the congress was finished there were no votes.
And then they come back and homeless now -- -- taken this as a personal friends I'm talking about the thousands of people in my district.
Them hundreds of thousands of people throughout the new York New Jersey area.
Within ten days after -- Katrina hit sixty billion dollars was appropriated nine weeks -- -- that one and he's been appropriated and we just -- -- one point.
These Republicans have no problem finding New York when they're out raising millions of dollars they -- all the time.
Filling their pockets -- money from New Yorkers I'm saying right now anyone.
New York New Jersey contributes one -- to congressional Republicans he's out of their mind.
That's what they do resident was put a knife in the back of New Yorkers and New Jersey is with absolute disgrace.
In congress thinking I -- -- -- I felt that night too because I'm from New Orleans and I suffered.
Through Katrina we lost ten -- homes I lost all my childhood memories everything I understand what these people are going through so I'm quite frankly personally outraged by this.
I -- -- asking -- now as of Thursday he had the newly elected congress simply see that have to start from scratch is there.
Any hope that we can get this back on the books and get something to get a deal done quickly.
I don't see how the reason I say that is when not in session next week.
The following session the week we're in session two days and -- the presidential inauguration and you have the state of the union we're going to be into February.
And by the way there's there is opposition among Republicans too giving the sixty billion dollars they want to give us twenties have point seven billion dollars.
Which is the money to have to give us anyway.
So that's -- was really good chance to get it through.
That was the arrangement was made we played by the rules we did everything they asked to do.
Governor Cuomo assortment of Mercedes outraged Governor Christie is outraged.
Mayor Bloomberg so disappointed in what happened here and he went out -- the -- it.
Always a history of system -- everybody else has been treated and whether Republican Party hasn't bias against New York.
This bias against New Jersey this bias against the northeast they wonder why they're becoming a minority party why we're going to be of -- the permanent minority but they did last night it was -- tomorrow.
So disgraceful so are responsible that's -- that the party of family values.
And -- families are starving families that are suffering.
Families and spread all but living in substandard housing this was a disgrace.
They are inexcusable and they've had -- as far as I'm concerned I'm on my own -- got to go a long way to get my vote on anything.
I mean I really I really share and feel your pain in I I I want to believe that something and they say their view it's gonna happen right away it.
Any upside that -- can think anything can happen before February anything of and I know at what point -- that you were they were talking about the 27 billion at least temporary relief.
But that's off the table to the right.
Everything's off the table right now and you know we'll get something as a goes along but -- stay that goes by the -- is compounded.
-- the New York City Subway system the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel.
Waste water treatment plants and that's are counted as a county alone and six point five billion dollars in damage via county executive -- me I know.
That the budget was on the president's anyway because -- tough fiscal times.
How did you pay all money that was incurred -- expenses the recurrent -- as you rebuild -- of Suffolk County was do you belong.
Governor Cuomo in New York Governor Christie in new -- -- -- Governor Christie gives it when the Republicans put him out front he's our man he's our blue collar candidate.
He's the guy represents the heart and soul of the Republican Party he went everywhere -- Republicans all over the country.
He went everywhere where they do they knifed him in the back.
Have you spoken to governor Christine.
Let's go to Governor -- last night.
And I'm not you know doing the production work for your television show you one.
You get a good personal and that he's more in this Governor Christie he went through this day in and day out with us.
For the last week when everything was planned he did everything he was asked to do everything he resisted do.
He got -- the most detailed documentation as -- Governor Cuomo.
As the Mayor Bloomberg gonna give them saying that there was walked in there there was this whatever that was in the -- that they didn't want that was put in by the senate we took out.
That was a streamlined bill last night.
And they just took off of what they had even told us why instead it's not often that the dark -- night.
Well I can't believe that this is not the relief is not getting to these Porky -- -- that needed the business owners etc.
Congressman Peter King I applied junior efforts to keep fighting for the people because that's what it's about it's not about politics and about those people -- socialist I think that you yet we can get Governor Christie on to talk about it more will do that thank you very much and thank you.
