Good evening I'm -- fair to say the last three days on Capitol Hill have been tumultuous.

Tense.

Packed with drama.

Might be an understatement today was the last day of the 112 congress and it ended with a lot of shouting.

This time over the hurricane sandy aid bill lawmakers from new York and New Jersey called the lack of progress failing to get to a vote.

A disaster.

-- house leadership accuse the senate of sending a bill chock full of pork.

Correspondent Shannon -- sorts it all out.

It is most disgraceful action I've seen.

In this house in the twenty years I've been here this is a disaster -- on top of a disaster.

House Republicans who opposed quick passage of the -- the -- bill primarily house speaker John Boehner are getting blasted from both sides of the aisle.

But monikers like California's Darrell -- to say they were never going to vote for bill they say is full of all kinds of pet projects that have nothing to do with those devastated by the super storm the fact is -- -- didn't do their job they -- they sent us a bunch of -- and then left town and that was just brought critics of the sixty billion -- senate bill which was going to be broken into two separate house votes.

A 27 billion dollar primary bill and -- 33 billion dollar amendment say it was loaded with pork.

They point to 600 million dollars for the EPA to support climate change issues.

348 million dollars for the National Park Service and 188.

Million for Amtrak among other things.

I doubt that Darrell ice.

Would say when California.

God forbid has an earthquake.

Or fire.

That relief to them is pork in fact he has not.

So and infuriated.

Infuriated.

By comments like that.

Also infuriated New Jersey governor Chris Christie who says Boehner refused to take his repeated phone calls last night.

As it was becoming apparent to see any aid package wouldn't go to a vote in the house.

When you sit around and you delay in the U assurances to -- -- -- -- to be done and they're not that's not doing your job and have some gusts.

Put it up vote yes or no let's move -- This afternoon Boehner spoke with -- then he and house majority leader Eric Cantor met with the congressional delegations from both new York and New Jersey.

And assured them that the CD package in a new form is their top priority in a package Republican Peter King says it will be pork free -- Stories -- going around these -- may have been in the senate bill and out of the house vote.

This Friday the newly sworn in house will vote on getting immediate resources to the National Flood Insurance Program and then on the fifteenth got to be the first full day of the new legislative session.

There will be votes on the rest of the -- the aid package in front of course -- it has to go back to senate.

Start all over from Chad thank you.
