Corporal hammer gets released from the prison in Matamoros he comes across the border he's picked up by his father.

And the two begin to drive back to South Florida.

But he has to stop in Louisiana and go into a hospital why.

Well actually after he was.

Let go by the prison start experiencing a lot of fever diarrhea.

And headaches and actually a vomiting as well he was immensely dehydrated.

He just couldn't tolerate working his way down to Miami so he was -- over Lafayette.

All right so he drives from Brownsville Texas the Lafayette Louisiana.

And all the while he's sick.

And so you have this assume that he was sick in the Mexican prison and whatever -- deal was on happened there correct.

Yes sir as a matter of fact actually is -- to -- between seven or ten days prior to being let go.

So are having copious amounts of diarrhea and having more than five bowel movement today.

Not tolerating taking anything orally as well and then now the fevers and -- headaches started actually occurring once he was let go in Texas itself.

He just could not tolerate the drive to Miami and it was around Lafayette Louisiana where it is what what -- it emergency -- what was the Genesis of the illness what was wrong with.

Well actually it could be just a combination of -- he just be so severely dehydrated from diarrhea itself.

He received a lot of IV fluids several leaders weren't they had a full work up including -- -- -- lumbar -- while he was in Lafayette.

OK so they work -- mafia and -- -- poke your means they do looking for meningitis symptoms of meningitis right.

That's one of the things it also could be some other causes but the most common being meningitis okay to delegates back in the -- -- arrives in Miami.

And then you see him what kind of condition was -- -- He would -- Miami's make -- the diary is improved but he was having severe headaches.

When -- particularly when he was standing up and was very uncomfortable he was still -- little dehydrated as well most likely and we thought the most common cause who we called.

Post them -- puncture headaches it's.

Pretty -- -- comment particularly among young men in their twenties that occurs about ten to 30% of the time.

All right -- now puncture all of this stuff happen because he was treated poorly in the Mexican prison correct.

Each is he was just so severely and yes he did not have access to enough food or water.

When we did the examination also found multiple mosquito bites throughout his entire body.

He's lost a lot of muscle tone.

He lost over maybe were fifty a fifteen pounds as well put Johnny -- -- about state.

All right.

Prognosis for him going forward.

Fortunately it's very positive it's a good thing he came out of prison at the time he did.

Truth is that diarrhea is one of the most common cause of death around the world one of five -- current around the world from diarrhea so it's very fortunate he did come on -- did.

All right.

And we're happy that that happen but I am bit surprised that is physical condition because he's a strong guy a former marine.

Combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan and he's also -- wilting flower.

And Ayman Al -- that prison.

And and he is in the as you put it you know -- and very serious shape where he had to be in you know the hospital -- at a hospital you get all of them.

And as -- an on -- tournament just imagine if he had remained in the prison.

It pretty much that things could have happened if he continue with these symptoms.

Conservatively speaking we -- lost John.

Now when you speak to other core pull.

Does he does he tell you about what happened to him inside because we're we're going to speak to him was when he's stronger and a little bit better we'll look forward to that -- was he said he -- Well actually not much when we first had the opportunity of meeting and he wasn't feeling very well he's having horrible headaches.

What she started feeling better.

You somewhat cryptic in his answers he's just wasn't ready to speak spot on specifics and -- experience while he was there aren't well.

We're gonna wait till the feels much better and we hope we'll get that on this program doctor thanks very much we appreciate you come on this evening.
