Thank you right now what could be a tough sell the media world been buzzing since the Arabic news network Al-Jazeera.

Bought Al Gore's current TV.

That gives Al-Jazeera access to some forty million US homes and an opportunity for a network many see as anti American.

To try to change its image.

The question is will US viewers turn the tune -- -- Judith Miller former Cairo bureau chief for the New York Times Kirsten Powers is a Daily Beast columnist both are Fox News contributors.

Time Warner got wind of this deal and and pull the current TV from its lineup.

That's going to have an effect on the number of households that this new network is available does it stand a chance Judy.

Well I think standing a chance has to be defined -- and are we talking about.

Commercial.

Success in which case you know current TV did pretty well even though nobody was watching.

And I think for Al-Jazeera this is an investment.

In the future Al-Jazeera.

English is not Al-Jazeera Arabic.

And I think they do stand some chance of building on what was a very free very paltry set -- ratings for current TV.

They also by the way.

Ingratiate themselves to Al Gore Indiana Democratic Party so I think -- Smart move for Al-Jazeera whether or not they can persuade people to watch them.

Is is a big question.

-- curious to -- is there anywhere is it is they're nowhere to go but up here for network that was hardly seen.

Meet the immediate but look I don't think Time Warner really has an excuse for not carrying them in the argument about them being anti Americans of their four.

You know I think there's some people that feel it's great that they're not being carried -- to remember the Time Warner.

Carries you know I don't even know the number had more an estate -- channels you know run by penthouse and hustler.

And that you know they just and 2002 and 2010 they add an eat more.

Porn channels so you know it and if this these -- their standards I don't really think that they can claim that outages Jazeera does not meet their basic standards for what -- put on television.

Judy you know what about Bill O'Reilly touched on this the other night the fact -- -- that Al Gore.

He's going to -- apparently a hundred million dollars from from his portion of the ownership of this sale of 500 million dollars sale overall he gets -- -- percent.

-- but the New York Times -- old paper says that gore wanted to get his deal done.

Before the end of the year because he knew that capital gains taxes were going out is that -- little couple hypocritical and should the media be calling him out on that.

Now John it's just capitalism.

-- -- -- nobody likes to pay taxes and Al Gore is now proving but and reaction pay.

Their fair share -- A hundred million dollars I mean this is the most successful failure.

In TV history.

It's really extraordinary that -- -- Al-Jazeera I think that today Time Warner was actually.

Almost apologizing for saying we're going to kick them out.

We're not going to consider in fact I said we are -- going to select consider putting them back on the air I think there's a lot of pressure.

On this one and I think that ultimately Americans will get a chance to see more of Al-Jazeera even on Time Warner.

Is so good -- tears and it sounds like you think that that the Time Warner may have made a mistaken and should put the month.

Yeah absolutely and that look I think more information is always better and people it should be able to.

Decide what they wanna watch and you know I I would watch it at -- -- should see it I don't -- something -- be tuning into every day but it it is a different perspective on the world and and I think that Time Warner is probably.

Realizing that they that that that this isn't gonna go over well with a lot of their their customer -- but this is.

I mean you know that there are a lot of impressionable Americans out there accused in this is the network Al-Jazeera that did -- -- story on.

You know kind of all all -- story on the heroics of Osama bin Laden they got hot yeah killed 3000 Americans.

While I would say that -- There's a lot of places to start censoring if we're going to start looking at things that a fact impressionable Americans including our children so.

You know it's a slippery slope if you start doing that if you start saying we're gonna do it here -- that warehouse are we gonna start meaning you know violent movies are Rihanna start banning.

Know anything that we think has a negative impact on.

On Americans you know I think we have to I'm just a big believer in a I'm against censorship and be just you know the more information -- -- and let people.

You know discern for themselves and I don't they don't mean that the Time Warner Cable deciding.

And the -- -- pornography you know does enough damage in this country.

And and and yet nobody cares that they didn't -- -- you know how much money this company makes off of off of running porn.

Being -- of cutter.

Basically owns Al-Jazeera.

I I assume you won't be too worried about the ratings because he doesn't really need the money on -- he doesn't need the money this is a Smart political move for him I think you have to always remember that Al-Jazeera because it is owned by the country's.

And oil producing country that come country by the way Al Gore mr.

and -- an analyst.

I think you have to remember that they've come a long long way I can remember when Al-Jazeera.

Was talking about terrorists as -- using the word in Arabic martyrs they are not doing that anymore because they know they need international respectability.

I think the English program is very very interesting and I was in Middle Eastern person who's interested and developments there.

I have to watch John I think a lot of people are watching too but in my area.

But as you point out it is an inconvenient truth you know mr.

global warming Al -- sold his TV network to an oil producing country I think it's great he's making money or even more -- -- and he any escape the higher capital gains taxes 23 exactly Judith Miller appears to empowers thank you both thank you thank you tune in tomorrow I'll -- talk on news watch where we cover the coverage of the big stories of the week 2:30 PM eastern time tomorrow.

Also again at 11:30 PM for unite --
