Philly scored -- second session on the docket today bizarre new details in the trial of a woman charged with the brutal murder of her ex boyfriend.
After he is said to have broken up with her.
We're hearing for the first time a phone call between the murder suspect -- areas and the lead detective in the case.
And the 911 call made by the friends who found Travis Alexander's body a few days after he was murdered.
Prosecutors say -- areas shot Travis while he was in the shower after they had been intimate -- -- 29 times slit his throat.
Well now we -- learning that Jodi.
Spoke to the lead detective in this case the day after Travis -- body was found.
Jody who seem to go from -- too emotional at various times through the audio recording.
Described yourself as a good friend of Travis is and said she wanted to help police in anyway that she could.
She tells a detective she did not know much.
About the killing which now she later admits she did do.
It's.
I've heard that he would.
He passed away and then I heard it was.
I don't know what kind of I didn't really think that there was a lot of apple our home record.
Hit perimeter -- -- -- there -- People -- I had gotten sorry -- She's very upset joining me now to discuss the latest jobs -- -- former prosecutor now defense attorney and Mercedes Colin who's a Fox News legal analyst.
So there she is on tape to the police now John and we played when you're on the other date her interviews with the press.
You know I'm so upset of course I didn't do it I don't know anything about it now she Mitchell did it she did she shot him in the head she slit his throat your -- here she stabbed in 29 times.
He fought for his life she stabbed him in the heart.
And now she claims it's all self defense and you know she's just upset in the beginning and didn't want to admit it.
But she was talking like there was no tomorrow and now as a result of all those statements there may be known to.
-- for her but look I think there's definitely no tomorrow for -- That tape that recording that conversation with the police officer which she instigated by the way might have helped -- this was the case of who done it.
But let's fast forward four years later now she's trying to say that she can have him -- felt the feds get the jurors are hearing.
This bold black -- you story -- -- yeah he was -- that I'm just I'm just trying to help that's what she repeated to this officer over and over again I'm just trying to help.
Her credibility is already shot I don't know how she's gonna come back from that.
Mercedes she showed up at his house that day when he and it's he had broken up with her had he been cheating on her and she broke up a hammer he brought it whatever -- ended badly she wanted to be with him according to prosecution.
She showed up at his house that day with a -- Our rights is -- she has relations with them they take pictures.
She kills them.
She tries to put -- camera in the washing machine to get rid of the evidence of the photographs of them together and of his dead body.
That she took that were inadvertently taken on a camera any -- -- that she was with the dead body.
And now she claims I did all of that because he was controlling and abusive and that's I'm going to be -- approved mr.
I mean -- when the facts are this bad you argue the law they're going to resurrect the fact that you have to prove beyond a reasonable without.
That she killed him intentionally.
So what's -- gonna try to do -- if he's going to -- all these theories he called me a flood he called me up for high reward -- that fit Travis Alexander.
Floral I would -- six glee if this is the type relationship we had we had this.
-- -- relationship I was controlled by him.
All Q school.
To try to do is one save her life.
And her lawyers are going to try to infuse as much as they can't and -- the dead did get hurt to have a second chance on life that they hit.
You know I wonder about this seems like a strong case against -- but how do they convince the jury.
That this woman who has no no criminal record -- no prior incidents.
That we know of went from sort of a normal person upstanding citizen to I mean -- tax -- murderer.
In an instant.
I think they're going to prove that she really wasn't a normal person that they bring and some character witnesses every single friend.
Of the decedent is gonna say you know much.
Tell -- something a little off about her there also gonna have emails where he got a new girlfriend -- and she emailed the new girlfriend and basically render his tires were slashed so even though she would be getting caught committing crimes prior to -- she would exhibiting really strange behavior you couple that with the nature of this terrific 27 times that's not self defense mega.
Once twice three times maybe 27 that's something else entirely I.
Is it -- I -- a friend of Travis is who knew her as well who spent the day after the murder with her.
And he was on Nancy Grace Mercedes and we talk about how she seemed fine she's eaten a -- and a great time he did notice however issues wearing long sleeves that day.
Because it's believed the Travis Alexander fought back.
And she had he had some defensive wounds on him as she probably had some cuts on her arms where he tried to save his life I mean this a death penalty case.
Is this woman likely to be convicted and face the death panel.
I think there might be there's probably -- chance you'll get convicted unless they really tried very hard this whole theory of her being abused by Travis Alexander.
And frankly the fact that she didn't have a crime in the past that's gonna come forward and that -- is well.
If she had some psychological issue it would have manifested itself -- 32 years of age she -- had some sort of psychiatric history showing that she could have this type of crime actually take place but if she does get convicted it's unlikely that your comport with her parents and take her life because gonna there's like to mitigate -- -- you know history -- -- -- -- -- she -- About how he was -- a punching bag and is in his bedroom and he was you know skilled in in I guess some sort of martial arts or in in boxing.
And then when she was asked by the detect about whether he kept guns in the house listen what she said this let's get this and quickly for the break this -- -- want.
-- Atlanta back.
And her rightful.
Now you wouldn't mind -- And that's what she's gonna argue that she was afraid of his two best I want to talk about how that.
She might be able to make this case look what Casey Anthony -- There was no evidence.
And yet she managed to get ahead of you know it being anybody other than her veteran -- -- be picking up right after the break plus a real crime scene photos.
So Jonathan why won't this be like the Casey Anthony case where it really the defense lawyer in that case just asked questions.
That he never got really answers to you know did didn't you -- Casey Casey Anthony that crediting the father no I mean.
But he put it out there -- -- -- in the minds of the jury's.
The jury and you know he managed to get an acquittal in that case -- without really.
You know with just innuendo.
You know and that did surprise us all but I think the difference is.
You couldn't really connect all the dots and keeping Anthony -- we know she was that this -- We know she she made the fatal blow she's the one who you know shot in the head she's the one -- but it felt -- -- now she admitted that so the issue is going to be.
What did in self defense or wasn't it and you know just you mentioned earlier meg and I heard of -- whole -- it look I don't have a history of anything.
He didn't have a history of beating -- -- -- -- so who is the jury -- and honest after I hit.
No there's no I would even -- for a second overseas and there's no proof of him -- that being a violent or abusive in any way they -- a strange relationship it was you know very intense for short amount of time.
But that crime scene those photos of the the crimes announced a wanna win their brutal -- there bloody.
But when you see the evidence of what she did.
It -- races that history of no problems because even if she was a girl scout all the way up to that -- Mercedes.
She admits she did.
That she caused the blood -- in that room that day and then denied it to anyone who would listen and it wasn't until that camera surfaced that -- she did it that she admitted it.
And now claims self defense that's why she has to keep beating that same job I was a victim I was victimized I was afraid to tell the police officers -- -- have -- These -- his guns.
She has to keep beating that drum -- confusing that jury with that doubt that need to save her life and frankly went on there are so you know my own personal.
Personal life with this issue -- you don't know when that's happening -- certainly don't know the -- with that members being affected by that.
And that could be possibly happening in this relationship may not told anybody she didn't disclose attending but it now but that's what she has glossy finish is gonna actually Pakistan will -- ladies thank.
