Great to have you here thank you so much for joining us tell us why you think it's time for Texas to secede from the union.

Well.

I don't know there's there's lots of reasons that we believe Texas and you should should -- -- -- the union.

But basically it is it boils down to political freedom that we have lost cultural freedom that we have lost and and certainly.

The economy that you've been talking about on your show for the last 45 minutes.

There -- sixteen trillion -- right there and with the new negotiations that went on last weekend we can -- another four point.

Something 1000000000002 -- so we've got to.

Just start off we've got -- trillion reasons to try to protect the economy and the people of Texas from what we believe is a is a certain coming disaster.

So you folks -- is as a serious effort underway and you are getting lots of folks to sign these petitions.

How do you characterize the movement and -- in and of itself at this moment.

Well the moment actually the Texas nationalist movement as is actually over sixteen years old now so.

This is not something that's just happened in in the recent past we've been now working on this for a long time for all of those reasons idea I just laid out -- What has happened through the years is that the organization has continued to grow.

And with.

Certainly with the election in November we saw a huge huge spike in membership.

And and also in activity of of the people of Texas going and and and actually.

Looking into.

The the history and the reasons for taking a look at being independent again for example since November.

We've had over three million hits on our website so.

The interest is -- people are frightened people are scared people -- Our understanding that.

That we have a federal government that is just completely out of control and we we watched it last -- in meltdown on live TV so.

-- but you know the State's governor and office statement up there because I Governor Perry says.

That he believes in the greatness.

Of our unions -- a quote from him and that they should be done to change it.

But he also shares -- frustrations many Americans have with the federal government now more than ever.

Our country needs strong leadership from states like Texas that are making tough decisions to live within our means.

Keep taxes low and provide opportunities for job creators so -- citizens can't provide for their families and prosperous of the governors -- backing your cost.

But.

You say that doesn't matter -- you guys -- -- move forward and continuing your efforts.

Yeah we are and I -- our.

State of Texas has a constitution also and our constitution -- says that all political power.

Is inherent in the people.

And so what we're working for is yes we want to have a bill filed in the Texas legislature.

That gives us the people of Texas a non binding referendum vote let the people speak their voice let the people.

It killed the legislator and the governor in Austin whether they want to be independent or -- Because all political power is inherent in the people that is their decision to make not the governors and certainly not the legislatures that.

That fit in in Austin.

The people need to be heard in the people want to be hurt and that's why we're -- so much activity in this in this Texas nationalist movement.
