Son Bill O'Reilly in the week as a Bernie segment -- let's bring in a purveyor of Bernard Goldberg dot com who joins us from Miami saw.

Some might -- points on the journal news -- the names of the gun owners and you said.

Well let's get this part out of the way quickly and right at the beginning.

Newspapers have a right to publish public documents that's why they're called public documents and public records but just because you have a right to do it doesn't mean you should do it.

If if they want to editorialize against guns no problem if they even want to call for the repeal.

Of the Second Amendment.

That's their First Amendment right again no problem but the publish the names of gun owners who have committed absolutely no crime.

Is.

Is just downright.

Irresponsible.

And it amounts to nothing more than a cheap anti guns stunned.

It's the kind of thing bill that you'd sort of expect from a wise guy working on the high school.

Newspaper.

And to the extent that a newspaper survives based on its reputation.

This is done real damage to this newspaper strip are Asian and and a hard it's it it's part of booked a bigger.

A picture story one involving.

Hypocrisy.

And liberals in guns and I hope we have some time to get into that.

Well Leo I mean in and somebody.

In the talking points memo Charlie who lived in Illinois -- there wouldn't publish the names of welfare recipients and and and and he's kind of -- public is well but but here's what this is this is WikiLeaks.

Light that's -- -- it's because.

We now know all that individuals.

Real people like -- -- Are suffering.

-- cost of the exposition.

And because they say you know watch our sentence -- mean I I sense a lot of people to -- I mean not prosecute a lot of people.

And now.

They know -- -- they know what my status is right and and here they -- And the journal news knew that.

They knew it.

Just like the WikiLeaks guys now in leavenworth is going to be tried he do.

-- -- out information about US forces.

That he was putting his guys in danger.

That this information could be used by terrorists -- move.

That the unintended consequences could be harmful to individuals and that's why you can't justify.

What -- journal news did.

-- it's you can't justify what they did as I said it's like -- high school stunt.

But they have a right to do it and -- -- may be giving them more credit.

Then they deserve by saying that they realize what the unintended consequence -- I'm not sure I captured on amateur these people gave this any more thought.

-- -- -- -- -- -- -- They should be all of -- -- Absolutely wide -- us.

I'm with you -- that that's another matter altogether because they have -- this is how the press has power constitutionally guaranteed power.

And oppressed can hurt individual Americans this is where they go over the line.

This is it an ideologue question about -- in this is a public safety situation.

This no question about that and there's no question in my mind that they should've thought about the unintended they didn't act.

There goodbye see you find with.

Fine with -- by the way.

On the hypocrisy matter.

I know you reported this last week but here's a newspaper that clearly doesn't like guns and they don't have much sympathy for people have guns for their protection.

But as soon as they get some nasty emails and some.

Angry phone calls.

What are they do they hire a security firm that comes there to protect them.

With guns but I mean the hypocrisy is -- a -- taking -- -- one right and then present President Obama.

When asked after the terrible tragedy in Connecticut.

If he thinks that they should be armed guards with guns in schools he wasn't big on that idea.

Because he's not that he doesn't think it's a good idea for your kids -- by -- -- I mean the people watching us for your kids to be protected.

By people security people with guns but he does like the idea.

-- his daughters are protected by security people with guns not just a Secret Service that have guns obviously.

But also the school that he sends his kids to.

They have according to one press report eleven.

Armed guards why is that because their kids are special and your kids aren't.

But come on that kind of liberal hypocrisy is annoying.

All right now Bernie has ventured where few men have gone before into the world of Twitter.

Hit a -- very -- -- I -- you try to be 32 years old but Twitter become that since it.

That -- my daughter signed me up then and now I have 61000 people who are hanging on my everywhere so what I did.

If I know crazy I'm the first to admit it's totally insane but what I did was I asked my life.

The people who think I say important things I said what is your most daring prediction for the new year.

And I got some real Smart answers I mean really truly Smart but my favorite was from the person who said.

This is his most daring prediction Bill O'Reilly reveals his softer gentler interviewing style in 2013.

Asks Bernard Goldberg.

What kind of tree he would do that.

It's so so that's that's the new -- -- tweeting and I don't know what time in the world would know it won't happen -- All right and the person who Tweety you that is strong -- never happen how about my favorite my favorite color.

Yet favorite number.

If you've been the favorite number.

Would that be zero now Bernie go very everybody tweeting his life away.
