Hey good afternoon good evening good morning wherever you happen to be watching us live from the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Nevada had the largest Consumer Electronics Show in the world 150000.
People descending upon this city I guess the show starts in just a few short hours from now.
If you look around here -- some final preparations being done they've got some police tape up no one was killed.
They were putting their -- together they're getting the carpeting done so -- go through with these big sweepers in just a few short minutes.
They'll get all of this patted down and all of the -- ready and up and running -- few minutes ago -- -- some forklifts running through here as all of these vendors.
Tens of thousands of vendors here at CES.
Getting set up for the big show you can see.
These are all totally completed here next to some big -- here the -- tech -- that presumably has some.
Different different wall mounts for some high definition televisions back in New York.
We're joined by Jeremy Kaplan he is live at the desk there in New York -- army morning will be far more earlier in the morning for you than it is for me over here.
-- -- been a bright morning up doing live shots bright and early so there at foxnews.com.
Slash CES is that the web page where everyone can go and see all the coverage.
Exactly we've got a list of all of our big stories.
We have a nice Twitter module you can see that on the right hand side there it's got a bunch of tweets from you right now.
As well as a bunch for me in other reporters we have out there and Shibani -- been tweeting a lot.
And if you're -- along with us your adjusted feel for a -- -- right there since -- a quick note.
Any ideas -- if you want us to cover -- or take a look at cleans out there at the show and he told me in the -- after -- repeat now he's glad to take a look at anything you're particularly interest in seeing or.
If you wanna learn anything about a pick their product or some manufacturers something we're glad to look at it for you and say this is good this is -- this is going to be the greatest thing ever.
Yeah -- going to be -- -- just uploaded tens and tens of photos we'll have many many more we're gonna create a module there we can share some of the photos from CES so again.
You can find me on Twitter at Clayton Morris any questions you have about any devices I would try to find it obviously we're in the central hall so you can see this is one of the -- it is massive here there's the -- -- the north -- And many vendors are set up across town at the Venetian and other places that didn't get into this main hall so we have a lot of -- -- -- this next half hour show you some fun different devices.
And -- also has some great -- for now the spokesman forward -- gonna join us to tell about some of their self driving cars.
Some of their energy energy efficient cars with all of the sync technology.
Built into the card with my Ford sync and all of the stuff that they're doing plus -- the folks from iRobot here demonstrating some of their.
-- iRobot luge which will gutter cleaning robots can show off some of -- brand new pool cleaning robots.
And I really love these guys they have a lot of great technology -- practical for the home still talk more about that coming up but first let's do -- little gadget demo.
-- -- Bruises and all we're gonna show you just gotta keep -- flown here I love this this is one of my favorites Jeremy get a chance to see yet the track dot.
The luggage.
Tag be put inside of your luggage I haven't seen that at all.
This is one my favorite devices that I had a chance to play with -- develop practical things things you're actually -- use you some of the bells and whistles stuff that's fun.
But this is great because he put this in signing your -- When you -- and for a flight.
And it works with two double -- batteries and then when he hit a hundred knots in the airplane it shuts off.
When you land you hope that the baggage with you when -- landed from your flight if it's not.
It using GPS technology using the -- and -- and low power Bluetooth it'll text you and let you know that it's in the same city.
You -- it it text you and says we're here as well in Las Vegas if you're not -- -- will text you what city it's located at some might say up we're in Honolulu.
How did we get here then you know you can go right -- the ticket counter and save my bags and Honolulu you please send it to me you guys screwed up.
It also lets you know it was great as it turned back on so.
It it shuts off at a hundred knots.
So you know wasting battery for the five hour flight and we get to the location once you land it automatically turns back on out of airplane mode -- on it automatically knows that.
And then when you're at the luggage food.
You're waiting at the luggage carousel and you're just standing there wondering there and I do I have time -- grab a coffee -- this thing and actually come down Booth anytime soon.
What's gonna happen it over low power Bluetooth it'll let you know that is coming down the ramp get ready -- you can get in positions like those other people off.
And get it as it's coming down the -- scenario that's the track got really practical great device.
And it's really affordable.
Quickly and that is a fantastic device and it reminds me the last trip that I took my wife lost her bag it happens to everyone at once and while of course.
We were going to an airport that had the code STT.
And it accidentally dropped the bag on the next.
The -- for the next closest code STJ.
Which was a completely different part of the world that took about it but -- -- -- to a maybe even a day and a half.
But the whole time we're seeing they're going out where the heck is the bad we've got no idea if if you step off the plane you turn your phone on an instant texts you that's that's really great -- I think that's wonderful.
Yeah it's great so you know what city you're in and you can know where to track it down.
-- -- soon again here.
All of this -- you know the again -- sort practical devices for your home and you you're talking about this we'll talk of maybe a little bit here and jump in on this Jeremy is sort of the connected home.
Devices that we're seeing a lot of and this is just one that came out a little bit before Christmas I think it's -- -- -- for trouble pronouncing this one.
The top MO.
And it's -- it's your own weather station.
In your house so -- how often when you have one of those weather apps on your phone is pulling your weather data for your town from the local airport.
So it's not terribly accurate for your house may be raining at the airport but might not be -- your house and it may never -- your house that -- so -- the top -- You set up in your house you -- one outside but your house.
He put one inside it measures barometric pressure.
The humidity no rain the temperature the air quality so you know for for breeding for pollen count all of that stuff.
Is relevant to where you live -- -- you know wouldn't look like outside your house but I think Jeremy you're right I mean.
This connected device stuff the connected home some of the home automation it's a big issue right.
Oh yeah we are in fact we ought to request for some -- is now Beverly Christiansen is looking for inexpensive self installation surveillance cameras.
One of so -- connect -- devices we see out there all the time.
And it -- you've -- something different for me every time I've seen devices from companies like -- whoever makes these they've always he need to be slightly pricey.
Fairly easy to use fairly easy to use I would say -- always been a little bit pricey.
Maybe you -- -- on the show you can keep your eyes out if and it's a little cheaper abilities or do you.
I've already solved that for Beverly in fact last night we are kept common than I -- I found it connected done.
-- connected surveillance system at home for your home someone showed off maybe tomorrow morning on FOX & Friends may be here we're gonna do another live -- tomorrow morning.
So we may have DO CEO or one of the gentleman who created on the -- Smart actually talk about it it's great.
-- and he was inspired by Steve Jobs home being broken tip.
He wanted to create his own version of their -- surveillance system that works with your phone your Smartphone it's easy installation you can sit up and about five minutes.
You can put motion detectors in every room.
Has cameras so and so -- walked in the front door of the house.
It takes five photos of that person's face and it'll send it right to your phone.
You can see all that's just my wife she forgot her keys or I don't know that guy he's in my house press -- -- calls 911.
Really really cool that's fans if you are paying that monthly -- so we you know we have EDT in my house.
You're paying like 39 bucks a month to keep your kids and and we say you know this there's no month.
We think that's the reason we're -- -- I have.
Senator you pay for the cable company -- to -- your modem that's why we have this always on Internet connection this is a great way to take advantage there.
Yeah one -- I'll mention if you see me shivering.
Because it is like thirty degrees in here yeah.
They've got the doors open they've got the doors open outside the loading bay doors -- always forklifts are coming in and people are bringing these big crates to get everyone.
To get everyone set up here so he -- shivering and old coffee that's what's going on do we have about time for the gadget before we -- to break here.
-- me do little.
But sooner we'll gadget demo here.
Absolutely.
Keep them keep them coming here.
You know fire any questions you have because.
In -- and it's kind of spotty where the consumer electronic show and wife buys a little weak -- imagine that.
Here here's the here's a new phone from Sony.
And Sony just announcing this today at the show this is their new experience -- fall.
And it is pretty sweet.
-- his form factor design really slim nice square design.
Here's the power button on the side looks like you know my Smartphone.
It's got shatter proof glass that they've added to the front and the back so no more cracked glass screens which is great that's one little profession that they've made.
They've also added near field technology NFC chip built right in the back of it here right by -- little chip.
And it lets you pair it with you know any of the NFC devices that you see your local store your Starbucks and so -- -- you walk up with Google wallet.
Or whatever other whatever payment system you're using maybe the gas station tap it right on plus Sony's now -- -- near field communications speakers.
So I want I'd listen in the music right on.
On this device walk up.
Happened here vibrates and the music is now being right to this device and it's not no longer playing on the phone.
At a party walk over your friend's house -- -- another great future.
And this is really amazing because Jeremy you know like how many companies like would quote hell and and HZO which we'll show you an actual demonstrations exactly two minutes.
Are having you mail your phone's off to them dual coat the phone in a liquid repellent.
And then we'll send it back to you Sony said you know what what we do that from the beginning.
We'll build it into the phone you don't the mail off to a third party.
So in this device now has built in -- quote hell technology and I don't know who's in and I don't know I said look we'll tell I don't know I don't know which company they're actually partnering with right now.
They haven't told me that.
But what I can drop it right in some water.
Works just fine up to three and a half feet this is the future of mobile phones no more and -- but off -- the screen and it works just fine.
So there you go there's the Xperia -- from Sony.
Which I guess the -- we're able to take away from this is that we're all getting -- here and the manufactures aware of this and they're taking steps to prevent our -- us from.
Being a detriment to ourselves.
I assume the phone is not working under water were not placing calls down there but that is handy again I hear that actually.
But does does it work under what -- It actually does work under water in fact.
They're playing music if I -- streaming music and I had it on the water the music would continue to play of course there's no music on this device right now but I saw it tests and it actually still streaming music but you don't want to -- scuba -- it's only good for three and a half deep water so.
That is the house down and -- definitely -- practical.
