Good morning bill and it bears repeating that incredibly it was two years ago today that congresswoman Gabby Giffords was shot in the head and -- shooting that killed six people during a meeting with constituents.

Now Giffords and her husband mark Kelly are forming a group called Americans were responsible solutions to halt gun violence.

In an op Ed piece in the USA today the couple says since the Rampage that nearly claimed her life there have been eleven mass shootings in the United States.

Last week the couple visited Newtown Connecticut which when he schoolchildren and six adults were gunned down at the sandy -- elementary school.

They -- a nationwide response must be more than regret sorrow.

And condolences and in the newspaper they write and I quote we don't want to take away your guns anymore than we want to give up to two guns we have locked in a safe at home.

What we want to do is what the majority of the NRA members and other Americans want.

Responsible changes in our laws to require responsible gun ownership and reduce gun violence.

And they specifically addressed such things this sale of weapons design for combat the purchase of weapons -- criminals and the mentally ill.

And the couple says they're inviting people from around the country now to join them what they described as a national conversation to line up behind leaders who will.

In their words bill do what's right so we'll wait for more headlines -- that beyond what get a Giffords and her husband are doing what other efforts are under way.
