You're a new flare up of violence between two nuclear armed countries.

India accusing Pakistan at killing two of its soldiers while on patrol in nearly I -- the highly disputed region.

-- -- this comes just two days after fighting with Pakistan claims one of its soldiers.

Was killed when Indian troops crossed that.

Militarized line.

Washington keeps a very close eye and these incidents as India and Pakistan -- at least three wars over Kashmir want to talk a little bit about it today it's -- watches in the movements in the new year.

General Keane is with -- a four star general retired and former vice chief of staff of the army and Fox News I contributor as well.

At general -- why why does this matter why should we pay attention when these things happen.

-- countries have historic tension that you pour enough for number -- years they fought wars.

And the world pays attention because they have nuclear weapons and the fear is that some minor skirmish like this one could escalate.

However I don't think that's gonna happen in this case I mean it is unfortunate that the deaths involved.

But the fact of the matter is Pakistan and India have been doing better talking and in the last several months and they have been in years so I don't think either one of them left to -- about him.

We often talk about Pakistan and how it relates to Afghanistan -- war on terror when you see something like this break out between two countries it's a separate issue completely.

It is -- impact.

It in a -- that directly affects the united states regarding many safe havens along the separate border that Pakistan has with Afghanistan.

Well ironically to Pakistan's have just made a major decision.

And that is that their main focus of their military should be on a threat that's inside their country and not India.

We have been urging them with military advice and political advice for years to make this decision.

What do you look at that that that -- be decided to do that now our say they say publicly.

It's it's a big deal goes what this will do it will change the education of their officers and a noncommissioned officers on the training itself.

To focus on counterinsurgency which is a different form of warfare and it requires special skill sets and special understanding of how you work those problems.

This is a good thing we have been -- to them for use as I said to focus on the that Pakistan.

Terrorist threat inside the country and the foreign terrorist threat inside the country.

What kind of role we play potentially and that will we be part of the training -- It making recommendations or is this -- that's really internal for their country we we have had quite an impact on this already.

You know we have provided them a doctoral manuals we have brought people -- -- a bona -- experts and is still do the training themselves.

There were also hoping that we have a major problem would Pakistan as we have talked to before.

On the show when -- and that is is that there are safe havens as you mentioned inside of Pakistan.

Where the Afghanistan column on harbor and the pakistanis are protected we're hoping to make some progress with those safe havens as well.

And one of the reasons why that's so underlined if you Willis because Pakistan has nuclear weapons no one really knows for sure how many and there's -- big question about.

Who can get their hands on is nuclear weapons.

And the wrong scenario that's office and they were concerned about with North Korea.

And we move -- to this other stories -- -- sort of it's a strange one if you will -- I characterize it in that way you -- the former governor Bill Richardson his name numerous trips to North Korea that this time he's -- with Google CEO Eric Schmidt and they're not being really open about why he's saying it's it's you know.

A general rising it's saying it's as some sort of humanitarian focus.

But the reason why -- were paying attention to this is because North Korea recently tested another rocket.

And there's been increased pressure on that country so.

What wouldn't wouldn't make and that's what -- they think that time it really awful on and it's disappointed in listen to the administration.

The administration -- now say no right they say we're going on this Pratt and and but it at Washington DC and maybe another time you know they they voted in wanted to happen now this were putting pressure on north Koreans -- further isolate them.

We're trying to lead an effort for more sanctions.

And the fact of the matter is the way they will Bill -- inside -- country they won't talk about Richardson's former governor of that gonna talk about Richardson -- someone ran for president.

Of the United States they will talk about Schmidt.

As a fortune 100 chairman and CEO and the -- one IT company.

In the world is coming to that country and it it helps to legitimize this bankrupt.

And thuggery regime of Kim -- -- And that's what -- -- use to explore and I'm sure that's why the administration didn't didn't want any of this because they're trying to put pressure on them.

And what he'll do is he'll use this and and say look at.

I'm telling you we are opening North Korea.

I'm not doing what my father did -- actually be -- more transparent and that's why I have these two individuals come into the country so this is.

-- we'll get a little push back from him probably from China are also.

As a result of our -- pretty unnecessary penalty is the big thing by no means but.

But I think it was an unnecessary visited I think they should have taken a warning from the administration -- As a side note apparently Richardson said that he was hoping to meet with US citizen -- -- US citizen that was born in South Korea.

-- -- now being held there we'll see if that has anything to do with this -- as.

Maybe that choosing this trip emerges sent out general penis -- -- you thank goodness you cover a lot of ground all -- -- -- John.
