After this one and Indiana mother who never thought she would see her kidnapped son again.
Overjoyed after police found him.
Nearly twenty years later Richard Wayne Landers junior here is his little boy.
He's now 24 years old he disappeared with his grandparents back in 1994 during a very bitter.
Family custody battle David Lee Miller is here with the latest on as David -- tell us more about the circumstances of this whole thing.
It will let's start with the back story here because it really is a very compelling one.
Authorities say that Richard -- lenders junior was abducted by his paternal grandparents when he was five years old because they were unhappy with -- -- pending custody case.
His grandparents Richard and with lenders have reportedly raised him since he was born.
The boy's father was never a part of his life but his mother Lisa harder was reportedly in the process of getting visitation.
Authorities say the grandparents took five year old Richard and simply disappeared without a Trace.
From their home in noble -- Indiana.
Years of searching turned up absolutely nothing but in September everything changed when -- missing boy's stepfather gave the boys Social Security card to the Indiana State Police.
That led to the discovery of a man with the same Social Security number living 567.
Miles away in long prairie Minneapolis at last the search.
Finally over.
Got family up there that's been that's really been grieving.
Nonstop for the last eighteen years.
And they've not given up hope they've not.
Given -- bringing in any tidbits of information to investigators we want to be able to close those case files.
And I can tell you right now that there are a lot of happy law enforcement officials in LaGrange county right now.
The grandparents who authorities say abducted the boy were also living in Minnesota criminal charges against them were dropped years ago.
After the case went cold and the reaction -- Davis -- had to finally locating this this boy.
The best -- I think you can describe it is it is bittersweet the Indiana State Police sergeant who worked the case.
Says at this point there are no plans in the works for a reunion in his words a bombshell was just dropped on this young men the last few days.
Now that's where his mother she's reportedly jumping up and down with -- joy.
The son she never knew is now 24 years old and married and -- the living under an assumed name he eventually gave authorities.
His real last name lenders suggesting he might have known his true identity.
