Well -- groups are once again calling for an end to federal funding for Planned Parenthood after the group reported.

Some -- record breaking numbers last year.

At the same time it announced performing a record high number of abortions Planned Parenthood also revealed that it received more than a half billion dollars in taxpayer money during its last fiscal year.

Prompting pro life advocates to sound the alarm.

I think the average person thinks that we should not be borrowing money so that we can pay for more abortions.

I think there's a common sense disconnect right there almost immediately after the brand new 113 congress was sworn in.

Pro life lawmakers re introduce legislation aimed at blocking family planning funding from going to any group that will not certified that it doesn't perform abortions.

Or refer clients elsewhere to get them.

Planned Parenthood says more than 90% of its services are preventive care and quote.

Like any other health care provider we are reimbursed by the government for providing specific preventive services to low income patients.

As has vindicates for decades federal funds are not and cannot be used to provide abortion.

Planned Parenthood on -- show over the last three years it has performed nearly a million abortions at a consistent annual rates.

But during that same time -- the organization is also had a nearly 30% drop in cancer screenings and more than an 11% drop in contraceptive services.

-- battles are also brewing across the country -- the number of states have fought to block Planned Parenthood from accessing bear funds.

Where the states have been successful the Obama administration -- often stepped in.

Either directly funding the organization itself -- threatening to withhold federal funding from the states unless they reverse their decision.

Every time we defund on the state level the president steps in and says over my dead body.

-- -- talk about this congresswoman Marsha Blackburn she is reintroduced a bill that would block federal funding to Planned Parenthood under title nine if thank you so much for joining us today did you feel it yet are you what exactly does that mean let's look at -- -- -- -- Tan and I it's part of the 1970.

Every 94 seconds.

And we're just saying look.

You know what you do not need to be using get this money money's fungible and we need to cut federal funds going to Planned Parenthood.

I talked -- Planned Parenthood about this this week about the numbers -- in new record numbers.

And they said you know no money has ever know federal taxpayer money has ever been used for abortion it cannot be it will not be.

And their argument is that they're providing essential health services to women they're not going to be able to get elsewhere if the government cuts off funding.

Well but the problem with that is if you you -- planed parenthood for a mammogram they refer you.

So they are making these referrals and I even -- now as some of the states have stepped Dan.

To -- began to cut funding to Planned Parenthood.

And then you have the federal government stepping back and that again.

You've got Planned Parenthood putting the focus on abortion services indeed requiring all of there -- feeling gets.

To do abortion services in 2013.

If it -- -- Knew that I learned in and put -- together something had to realize the basically be parent organization is saying to these franchises.

If you don't provide abortion services you can't be affiliated with the impairment.

And that is have concerns.

To us.

-- haven't they are away from what their original mission wise.

And we are very concerned that the focus is on abortion services we do not want federal money tax Payer money.

To be used for abortion services.

And what we have learned from former employees -- planned parent Hannity and individuals that have worked with them is that there's.

All that money is fungible.

And we're just saying -- know when you're an organization that gets 45% of your revenue from the federal government and when you have one point two billion dollars.

And net assets you do not need taxpayer funding.

At what is you or.

Handicapping of success for this and house and even if you are successful there what about senate.

I I think we're going to do really well will happen a pop and -- -- come forward.

And the senate so will be bicameral.

In that regard we've already got about a letter that has 29 groups.

That are supporting this this letter is already been sent to our colleagues' offices who we do expect that we're going to have bipartisan support on it.

-- vice chair the energy and commerce committee that issue will come before us it committee.

I think we'll make it through committee made it through the house and quickly made it over to the senate side and we're expecting bipartisan support their -- Want to ask you about that how many Democrats may be willing to sign on cosponsor or at least guarantee you a vote on the II think that we're going to see I -- -- is.

Say that this is -- solid bipartisan bail.

They are so many of my colleagues in the house who are very concerned about this and you know quite frankly -- and this is an issue where fiscal and social conservatives agree.

That you do not need to be using taxpayer dollars to pay for abortion surfaced this.

All right and again Planned Parenthood tells us they don't so we will watch as this plays out congressman always good to see you think you see you thank you are.
