Right now prosecutors are introducing graphic new evidence in the -- areas murder trial in Arizona the 32 year old.

Looking away as the jury viewed nude pictures of her and her ex boyfriend.

The now dead Travis Alexander taken on the day that he was stabbed and shot to death in 2008.

One photo shows Alexander sitting down in the shower.

Another image time -- less than two minutes later shows what appears to be a bloody body on the shower floor.

Police say areas took those photos the jury also saw -- police interrogation video in which areas denies.

Stealing and using the gun used to kill her ex boyfriend.

I don't even know that there were guns until my -- -- -- -- -- -- -- If we wouldn't.

-- -- Least -- -- -- Fox News legal analyst chip Merlin a criminal defense attorney let's start with this testimony about the gun -- because.

Sometimes that kind of thing can come back and bite the prosecution and I want to ask you about that.

The weapon used the gun used in this in this horrible killing has never been found.

It turns out that a twenty it was a 25 caliber gun 25 caliber pistol.

And such a weapon was stolen from areas grandparents' home in the days before the killing.

The evidence of all of this was allowed in to court but is there is there any evidence that shows the -- -- areas was the person.

Who obtained such a weapon.

Well no there's no evidence that indicates that she attended all this circumstantially was just.

One point five caliber gun that was taken.

From the grand parents -- I don't know all that matters her attorneys.

And they're opening statement or admit that she killed -- she'd stabbed him and she shot -- the only question in this case is the motive is -- self defense or not and that's the real.

Issuing everybody else is looking at these hate these facts right now but that's thirty -- -- her attorneys have admitted she killed -- so so you don't think it was an overreach on the part of the prosecutor intended to bring in that tape where she is talking with the police detectives.

I don't think -- -- an overreach by the on the map back I would do it all day long if I were them I think that what the defense is trying to do though is is you'd listen carefully to the testimony they're trying to show that there is overreaching that there's lying by the police officer Melendez regarding the the emails in the -- that are coming out things like that you can't believe the entire story.

Of the prosecution about it -- as to exactly what happened in the room because there are only two people that really now and one of mom's dad and the other ones in that courtroom.

Yeah -- those shower photos are quite incriminating -- because I mean you know she supposedly claims that he was an abusive guy.

If he died while he's taking a shower I mean that's about as Psycho as you can get that's that's.

That's an -- oh absolutely I mean -- at the great -- for the prosecution and don't forget she's changed her story so many times she said first of all she had nothing to do with -- that -- -- intruders well and -- really -- taking these photos those photos would look a lot different if there weren't traders taking those photos of a shock and surprise on his face would be not what we're seeing here so that report puts her there and I disagree with -- I think it's very import the prosecution.

Follow through and show every single piece of this because.

It is largely circumstantial case although there's a lot of physical evidence there as well you've got her hand prints for bloody -- -- you've got heard there -- sank.

Well I didn't do what I did do that finally I did -- it was a self defense self defense.

Splitting up the throat.

Gunshot through the head and also the stealing from the grandparent that is very remarkable because nothing else are very little was taken from the grandparents home just that one gun which he -- yet no indication that right in there were other guns in their collection that apparently were left behind that if if it's just a thief who wants to take a bunch of guns they would take everything Olympia and -- would take -- you know they're no no money was taken out of the big things -- would normally think -- with just a -- basic you know basic fact.

All right we are continuing to watch that case we will see what the jury decides again it's it's pretty disturbing.

Chip chip Merlin at least we'll thank you both --
