Veterans -- having a hard time getting jobs in many cases now the job for every veteran returning who wants one.
That from Wal-Mart.
It's US president says the company plans -- -- more than a 100000 US military veterans over the next five years.
The program officially starts this Memorial Day he says all -- without a dishonorable discharge are eligible.
In a statement First Lady Michelle Obama called wal mart's decision historic.
And said she will urge other companies do the same thing.
Of course critics say Wal-Mart officials just trying to repair the company's image after the recent allegations claiming discrimination unfair labor practice be that as it may.
Chief business correspondent -- -- world report Rick Newman is with he's the author of the -- -- -- -- winners -- from setback.
To success.
I'm sure that meant that what every veteran has been dreaming about his being a stocks I think you know -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- I don't think that's why they went to the military to learn how to stock shelves or check -- customers a Wal-Mart -- -- nice gesture by Wal-Mart immediately ending -- states certainly a good cause their hearts in the right place.
You point out wal -- had some controversy recently.
Accused of cutting benefits keeping people on part time status -- pay full time status.
You want -- ask Wal-Mart well what you're pap policy's gonna be different if you're gonna hire veterans -- you keep them on part time status as well also don't get benefits again.
Given a maybe a better path to success and that I guess we'll find out.
Wal-Mart also is in.
Is controversial now because it of course the largest seller of guns and it doesn't really want to be part of this big gun control debate.
So they've coming out little nice -- -- got.
I've been wondering about that though.
If you wanna get rid of the loop holes with a gun shows and the rest.
What better partner than Wal-Mart.
After all -- -- -- -- buying your guns and gun show they want you to come -- I didn't -- white and blue stores that have taken over every small town in America death and letting our our lives forever and I don't know for the better and might work out wal mart's web and of course Wal-Mart doesn't wanna raise -- hand and say yes we favor more restrictions for gun buyers because those are some of their biggest customers.
And they just don't want anything to do with the political controversy they want the business they just don't want the controversy right these jobs for veterans is -- been a has been a problem for a long time it.
No couple people who owned businesses who are always trying to hire veterans they -- Veterans are gonna need.
Education and counsel -- -- so many things that we as a society ought to.
Just seems like we all awful one of the best -- it's needed in this economy is a college degree -- -- mean a lot of that's come out after four years of doing an enlisted stand.
They need that college degree I mean they definitely have leadership skills.
Everybody who -- vets say they're great employees they're disciplined they know how to get the job done things like that that's not an excuse for not getting a college degree at this point I think you're right.
Get it -- through college get them more college in things like that.
And then get -- where the jobs are it's not a problem we have is people don't necessarily glee live where the jobs ourself that's not a thing we need to do mobility give them out and up.
Accurate thanks.
