Lawmakers in several states of targeted texting and driving obviously and now the feds are going after texting and flying.
Proposal would ban pilots from personal use of cell phones or other electronics while on the cockpit.
But -- with a Federal Aviation Administration say the aim is to keep pilots from getting distracted.
Comes after Northwest Airlines flight overshot Minneapolis airport by some 150 miles back in 2009 when there was a Northwest Airlines.
Investigators say the pilots had been missing from messing around on their personal laptops and lost track of time.
Pilots would still be able to use laptops or -- for flight related work -- that's nice.
But no more solitaire or Angry Birds during those long period when planes are on auto pilot.

Well yes you know I think it's a good idea I mean you're starting here a couple of these cases were happening you know we and foresee where he had in the colgan flight that crashed out there.
It was a very had the pilots -- attacks right -- -- out of the gate.
Mean I think that there are becoming more prevalent in society and enforce -- becoming more prevalent on these on these aircraft.
You wonder though there's an electronic trail that slipped by something like that.

Being an airline pilot is probably wanted to have a lot of responsibility end and for me I want my pilot paying attention to everything that's going on.
Things happen fairly quickly in -- cockpit and things can go bad very quickly in a cockpit and I know some pilots say you know once you take off it's kind of boring up there.
But you need to be monitoring those systems because at any second something could happen it can requires a 100%.
Focus on that issue so I think this is a good idea and I think most pilots are gonna respect this I don't think it's going to be a big deal in the industry.
