-- -- -- segment tonight as I've been telling you I've seen a change in president Obama's demeanor since he was reelected.
It's a bit more rigid and impatient with those who disagree with him.
Others have notice it as well.
This is the president I think who is who is drunk the Kool Aid he is feeling right now behind his -- power.
-- any pushing on every front.
-- joining us now from New York Fox News analyst Karl Rove so have you seen a change in the president's demeanor.
Yeah I've written about in my Wall Street Journal columns you know most presidents.
In her second term feel liberated and Obama's staff -- told -- on the national mainstream media that he too feels liberated but not liberated to go out and try to bring people together and liberated from partisanship.
It's its cities liberated to be more confrontational.
More partisan that he can basically take the fight to the Republicans and conservatives.
And that his goal is to win the 2014 elections return controlled house to the Democrats.
Most said second term presidents have they have significantly less partisan.
And less confrontational attitude towards that they're trying to achieve big things for the country about bringing people together not this -- Why.
Is it personal because he was has been worked over pretty hard but your guide George W.
Bush was worked over hard Bill Clinton certainly work -- -- now.
Mean is it what payback time is that what's going on I think that's part of the but I think also frankly it is a small agenda if your principal goal.
Is to win in the 2014 congressional mid -- elections for a -- not gonna happen.
Never in American history has a White House party gain seats in the house and senate in a second term the only time that.
-- gained seats in one house in recent elections.
Was 1998 when the Democrats made minor gains -- -- took a Republican overreach on.
Impeachment of Bill Clinton to make that happen but this is not going to be a pleasant collection for the president and be better off frankly.
The coming out and saying I want to achieve big things for the country and bring people together what he's not a great shape.
If you take a look at the Gallup job approval an -- earlier used the new warship post ABC -- to be NBC Wall Street Journal.
But if you look at the Gallup which we got a long history series of numbers on the eve of his re inauguration second term Eisenhower was at 73.
Both Reagan and Clinton on the eve of their second and our girls -- 62.
GW bush in the midst of a very unpopular war with a lot of people never thought he was elected the first place was at 52.
Nixon was -- 51 and today in the gap Gallup afternoon.
Tracking poll three day -- an average 49%.
For Obama's was not -- and often a good place he was at 67%.
In the polls four years ago.
Eighteen point decline from that innings and he's -- the way that he's -- operating is not designed to it to make -- more popular bring the country together.
I know one of the people that is thought to be a competitor.
Two by the Democrats in the next presidential election is governor Chris Christie of New Jersey.
Recently the NRA -- out an -- Saying that -- Obama is a hypocrite because he sends his children.
To school protected by armed guards in that he doesn't want armed guards and other schools.
Christie didn't like that -- by the NRA and said this.
Don't be -- in people's children.
Into this it's wrong and I think it demeans them.
And it makes them less of a valid.
Trusted source of information.
On the real issues.
That confront this debate.
To a -- well -- reasonable objection to the NRA memories from New Jersey a blue state.
He's got to get reelected this this year.
And he has a legitimate beef with the -- I frankly think the underlying point of the NRA had as an -- one which is there is in -- -- in America which is comfortable with having.
Private you know guards in private schools.
And is dismissive of the idea that that we ought to have people with you know lawful law law enforcement officials with guns available and other schools as well -- You know he's very as a lot of people public life far sensitive about anything that seems to draw in families and -- -- he has a legitimate.
I don't that's a valid point you know I don't I didn't think the NRA -- was Smart bad idea I -- -- to get to do many good.
But the bigger question is that Chris Christie after.
The hurricane sandy business with President Obama and now won't after the EI and -- -- eighth.
Us the Republican Party.
There's got to be skeptical about the governor from -- security.
Well look -- we have like several geological ages are going to come and go before.
We even get to the preliminaries for 26 yet but you know it never goes away well you -- whatever goes away it won't be -- have long memories well you know all the way to Ben wedeman something's.
There was a governor of California who signed -- one of the more permissive.
Pro choice.
Abortion laws in the country and not too many years later was the Republican nominee for president 1980 Ronald Reagan.
So what -- of what people do in the years running up to.
The the nomination fight.
Don't necessarily translate in exactly the way do you think.
