-- -- with taxpayers are being taken for a ride.

As our national debt moves full steam ahead.

So our mass transit benefits for federal workers.

One Republican try to derail them this week but he could even get his measure put to the floor to taxpayers are still subsidizing federal workers -- news.

That they -- and if congress can't reject something like -- we ever stand a chance of getting this debt mess right.

Well hello everybody I'm Cheryl Casone and walk on that passionate.

I catch it critics awake we have Wayne Rogers Jonathan Hunt Dick Tracy Byrnes sound -- failed.

Also joining us as we Christian Dorsey so welcome all of you and -- Tracy.

At this can't be cut then what came and I mean mass transit subsidies -- -- you think that they're gonna cut.

Any of the benefits they get for themselves I have -- -- zone and they are going to use milk us for as many perks as they possibly.

And -- well.

Bigger -- on and you.

-- you don't really support to just got sick they -- lighten -- no way we want all these perks.

This is going nowhere fast and it does not bode well on our debt ceiling okay so we're talking about spending cuts or -- -- we can't get mass transit Jonathan figured out.

What does this say it.

Up the economy for the next year if we can and make this happen.

Well I would agree that cuts are needed but a Trace his point no one in government seems to be able to push them through even in blatantly.

In my opinion immoral programs like -- 160.

Million dollar transportation subsidy.

I mean besides even if fact it's full of fraud 2007 she knows that he said as much as 25% of it.

Is fraudulent why -- government workers get these unbelievable benefits he's unbelievable perks that no one else out here you know in the real world.

Gets their -- their benefits are 40%.

More than us in the private sector though should be cut in the should be first.

You know -- this -- Washington to a whole new level of disappointment Summers saying because they could even get us to a vote to address an incredibly expensive program.

For tax payers -- this send a signal to you that nothing's gonna change.

-- and I don't have a problem with the program at all because you all are unfairly characterizing it now are you suggesting that.

You shouldn't subsidize our transit but you should continue to subsidize parking as has been done for the last 3040 years you're singing -- transit as part of the problem.

And this is not just a program available to federal workers.

These transportation subsidies are available to any employer and in fact in metropolitan areas more than half a private employers are offering.

These programs that require taxpayer subsidy.

So all of a sudden you want to single out federal workers who've had their pay frozen for two years and -- also treated it's worse than everybody.

Also way off on subsidies weighing he'll look -- -- amused by this discussion way.

Well -- the thing that I don't understand when you say that you know every program is justified not all it's needed it's needed something is needed their -- we do -- If you'll start cutting here and but -- it fat in this is that all of their respective what you're saying.

Federal workers are are put our taxpayers they have people being paid by the taxpayer why should -- have the right to reach into my pocket and take my money or your money.

Do do pay for his transportation when we have to pay for our own transportation it's unfair it's outrageous and chip and putt and the congress let me finish and the congress.

And the congress -- powers because they won't do it because they're threatened by the union.

You know wait analysts and editing you stated it is you got your directors had on your charged today out like this caught up in Arkansas how would weighing a -- -- -- I haven't what I have -- -- ran into a tree so that I'll have a little problem that the I -- -- -- street looks worse in handcuffs I.

Doesn't understand it to companies that decide to subsidize -- thing.

Comes out of their bottom line in Indy could she -- they sit around -- boardroom table they say what are we gonna offer our employees.

-- -- -- used to do this and cut into our bottom line to do it.

When you off all the stepped -- federal we did that say in the matter -- basically decide what they want that tape for themselves and it comes out of my wallet that's really.

Unfair to the American people and I -- Tracy you don't understand those transit benefits that your employer offers our pre tax so therefore they are subsidized by all of us.

So you are fine with the private -- that's not having taxpayers not subsidized commuting cost of their employees but you're singing out federal workers because of the transit -- of -- That should prevent you -- much help because it doesn't want to bitch that back workers get.

Benefits and I will ever -- so -- is just a minor minor incidents of all the stuff that they're getting.

And I guess my company makes these decisions not the congress not -- people that are benefiting from it without me you don't blame him.

Did I got I got a question you let -- -- and I got -- isn't -- it shocks.

Did fox give everybody a subsidy to come into work today did they -- -- this is dependent upon them.

Now exactly they didn't pay for it.

No I don't belong lock everybody de -- -- You know again that you go back to this and this is one example one example of what we're dealing with -- with regards to debt Washington.

But they couldn't even vote they would even vote on the idea.

To potentially.

Cut the mass transit.

Never subsidy for for federal workers but.

At the bigger problem here is that not one that kind of thing everybody's got to pet projects in DC right now.

Yeah Iraq and I think what happened to -- was Jonathan head in erupted in many will divert his attention and he ran into a tree I think -- actually what happened.

This is typical of of congress that they talk about Simpson -- talk about cutting they talk about entitlements they talk about revenue.

They're not doing any -- they refused to do any thing that is necessary to meet a budget.

However -- Christian is right this is part of compensation.

Now -- -- Jonathan -- point about 48% higher for federal employees.

If -- didn't do much compensation.

Then you need to address that compensation but this is no different than a vice president gets a car allowance who worked for some Wall Street -- or any other -- firm.

This is part of compensation and -- take it out what they were.

I think -- just say the private sector can assure that it's not 25% fraud like it is in the public sector in -- artery theater sound a lot of employees selling their transit cards on eBay.

On Craigslist Neitzel supplemental income for them I mean not -- when -- does that get her to issue.

But but he's a tremendous this a generous subsidies you know this holt federal transportation subsidies.

Only came about because of a green initiative back in the nineties as part of the Clean Air Act another example in -- nation wasting tremendous amount of money.

We need cuts this is an easy place to start congress getting to get its head around this should be a -- OK okay -- -- providing the parking you just don't like the -- that you think provides problem.

That train -- have a -- subsidies Christian personally I think I had a question and great hands.

You though we're talking between what no one reason that we're talking about the look Republicans try to bring this to the floor and get it could even get a boat called on it I mean that's where we're or ad and of that the lead debt of the spending -- a DC that that seems to just be a runaway train you well.

But -- the reason didn't come through to a vote on the floor was because people were not willing to continue to subsidize parking.

To a greater extent than they would transit.

That is not seen by anybody is good transportation policy or good fiscal policy if you want to have a conversation about getting rid of all of it.

That's fine but to continue to subsidize.

People to gridlock Washington DC while you penalize them for riding the train doesn't make any sense at all.

I think we need it.

-- have -- -- patient back cutting it I pointed out into the federal workers have 40% higher benefits than not that a private sector.

This is part of those benefits -- -- a -- -- also -- -- -- every -- my -- you know.

Caddie.

And I didn't I just lost their -- -- sent their paycheck go up might not I don't know one week off at a Denny's is Wayne.

Yeah no -- with Christian I agree with Christian -- -- a -- right he's right cut it all -- he's absolutely right.

All right everybody -- you coming up.
