On a tragic end to the four day hostage situation in Algeria.
The country's state news agency is now saying seven hostages are dead killed by militants before special forces stormed dead.
Greg -- Todd is joining us now live with the breaking details -- Well you're right as with everything with -- story there are shifting numbers shifting facts what what it seems to be however in Algeria is that that standoff is over and at least one report is saying that.

A jury in security forces special forces stormed the last bastion of these al-Qaeda linked armed militants at this natural gas complex in that country now according to the Algerian government eleven militants still holed up there.
Were killed but also seven foreign hostages were killed apparently by the militants themselves now the Reuters news agency quoting a security source is saying that sixteen foreign hostages.
Also today however were.
Free and included in that number.
Two Americans we believe there were two Americans there were still not accounted for but we have not gotten this yet confirm from the State Department from Washington that is one report.
There had been report however that one American was killed earlier in this saga.
And that five others were freed all told 29 militants have been killed basically all the -- there -- running this thing for the past four days and nineteen hostages.
Secretary defense Leon a -- -- that was in London today and he had these strong words for the people behind this hostage taking calculus.
Since since 9/11.
We've made very clear.

That nobody.
Is going to attack the United States of America and get away with.
And for that reason we have made a commitment.
That we're gonna go after al-Qaeda.
Wherever they are.
And this specific case were talking al-Qaeda in the Islamic -- grabbed the group thought to be responsible.

Just in the past half hour they have said that four of their staffers still remains.
Unaccounted for on the other hand however we're getting new word that eight.

Algerian security forces apparently came across fifteen bodies charred -- Said to be still waiting for identification again shifting stories we're still waiting for the crucial bit of information from Washington from the State Department that in fact except for the tragic case of the one American lost that we know for sure that all the other Americans who had been held hostage.
