There could be stampeded Texas that is -- Texas attorney general Greg Abbott has his way he's trying to lure New Yorkers.

Texas attorney general Greg Abbott posting on FaceBook moved to Texas -- -- keep your guns so why's -- trying to lure New Yorkers to Texas.

Attorney general haven't joins us good evening sir.

Good evening Greta.

Other stories kind of somewhat complicated in the last few -- a -- what what started this is I guess a new town shooting.

Governor Cuomo -- gun control measures and the newspaper in New York publishing names.

And then your FaceBook telling New Yorkers to -- -- and then of course today in the shooting in your state.

You know it's gotten so complicated -- blame -- -- thoughts about this tonight.

Well several things.

First.

Our hearts and our prayers go out to the families of those who were shot today at a college just north of Houston.

And the same thing goes with regard to the shooting that took place in Connecticut.

But no parent believes.

-- school should be in a way that a shock to get shot at school and when a parent drops a child off the school they expect to be able to pick that tell that that very same day.

The same time what we need to make sure that I miss this debate.

We remain calm and address the problems appropriately.

But the same time we can use this debate to look at the broader issues nationally which was the purpose of me taking out that -- -- -- because the point there.

Was to show the contrast between big government New York.

And limited government and taxes and the New York you have -- higher taxes more government more regulation and yet.

Less -- liberty and importantly fewer jobs and now the governor's tried to constrict people's liberty even more whereas in Texas we have.

Lower taxes less government fewer regulations more jobs and that more liberty and so -- warning -- to point out to our fellow Americans that.

There are different philosophies in this country -- you look at the competing large states you'll see that Texas provides one.

Political and philosophical -- view where -- states like new York and California provide another and it's Texas that is creating the jobs.

Reid -- issue about the should never walked in today and I stuck to bread affairs office he looked rather bad grammar that's what's wrong with you he -- another school shooting.

And I said not a grade school.

And he said no and I and I thought you know let me -- on that number this that I thought I get up.

I am flying out college wasn't as bad as grades go which is just so sick and twisted they're all horrible and even college kids are young people.

Yeah but we we have so many of these fifty that this -- across the radar screen.

That it's very difficult now we're off fighting about everything in the nation but -- hotter sort of stops us.

Right in and -- the most important point here and that is -- our goal.

Is to keep schools safe would need to keep that in mind and not get misled -- trying to come up with some.

False solutions that would provide a false sense of security the easy example is what happened in Houston first for your viewers -- everyone knows.

This was a -- based shooter who broke out.

At this college in Houston this was apparently gang related that was one attacker on another.

And that there was a by standard who was injured in the process of this was not a school shooting.

But which is on connect about obviously all shootings and school or Babbitt.

You need to understand also.

In taxes right now the time the shooting took place there is a law that prohibits guns on campus so once again the only person on campus with a gun.

Was a law breaker.

And so we need to be cautious about how we go about the process of considering guns remembering also look at look at column by.

Columbine shooting took place -- the time when there was an assault weapon ban.

The shooting that took place in Connecticut.

Guns were prohibited but where the school took place -- even President Obama staff admitted in a story that showed up in Politico.

That the president's proposals to crack down on gun crime would not have solved the problem are -- the problem in Connecticut.

-- my heart goes out to the people in your state today and at that -- at that college Tom.

Richard -- on the question.

Are you going to run the floor governor.

The state of Texas as a Republican I -- challenge Governor Perry.

-- as you might imagine from the issues we're facing this very day.

From the issues that we're seeing come out of Washington this month.

I'm from the issues were dressing in a state legislature right now.

When I have time to focus on politics politics we'll take care itself letter on right now waiting to take care of the business of the people of the state of Texas as well as this country.

I saw some reference so they told donors they were thinking about it just mean in the last two weeks so it can't -- semi -- you've got a certain look to the future you've got to plan so is it on your radar screen.

Well again who we're -- a legislative session right now -- Willie and at the end of may.

And politics can play out after that time.

Right now we need to work on keeping Texans say.

Working on these challenges the country spacing and taking care of the business of the people of the state of Texas.

Attorney general thank you and I know that there's not there wasn't a yes but there's not -- -- as well so I guess just stay tuned thank you served.

Thank you Greta.
