The democratic led senate has not passed a budget since pres Obama's first year in office and now House Budget Committee chair Paul Ryan is trying to hold the -- -- to the fire.

Insisting on the so called no budget.

No pay proposal.

When I grew up I had a lot of shots and I had to work to get paid.

Do those jobs and so when I flip burgers in mcdonalds -- mow lawns are painted houses.

Into the we're gonna get today.

I didn't get paid -- into the work it's the basic concept we're trying to apply here to be working get paid you know do you work -- -- -- -- -- -- joins -- nice to see you sir good to see -- should amendment shouldn't -- people be outraged that -- sort of struggling along with the sound of course house is the suggestion a stopgap measure in the present seems to be obliged to that but should America you'll be outraged and -- her Olympic belonged.

Yeah of course I mean five trillion dollars ago was the last time the senate had a budget -- unbelievable.

So the -- has gone up by five trillion dollars and yet.

For these almost four years now there hasn't been a budget and with the budget as you know comes regular order meaning you have the appropriations process.

Actually actually have some oversight over government instead what we do these stopgap bills.

Did you know mom and frankly we're not we're not doing the work so the Democrats in the senate I think are now gonna have to respond.

And actually put together a budget.

You can do by the way with 51 those you don't need sixty votes they've got 55 -- got plenty of Democrats to do little to work with us and make a bipartisan.

We got to have a budget is a framework you need to try to get to -- does try to.

-- well being present when I look tame last time -- the house Republicans who went on the table but senator Harry Reid.

He's essentially stopped and said unless everyone puts one on the table -- -- police have discussion reconciliation.

Not what is this why does senator Harry Reid hold back at least putting something new playmate -- -- get everything you want.

What what is tough -- make decisions as one of put his members through that.

You mentioned the president's budget -- right the last couple years the president's budget actually came to the floor of the senate and came to the floor of the house.

And in that receive a single Republican -- worsen and lead -- medical help at least he tried to put something into exactly it may -- -- an it was never -- working pretty hard to do so under -- he did it but it was a political document says.

It was -- and even Democrats could support in the senate required to produce was well under our rules they are and they haven't and they must and should.

But I think this will be an action forcing event so that's that's good what is the president's new budget -- Well it's already been announced is going to be delayed.

Till after term Republican -- time period hand you know we'll see -- he comes up with maybe this time.

Not having gotten a single democratic Republican vote maybe they'll change it.

And make it more realistic we look at the president's budget last couple years you know it adds trillions of dollars of -- spending.

It takes -- Current debt which is -- a half trillion twitches and 130000.

Dollars per household.

-- -- over twenty trillion dollars over the next four years so we gotta get this thing under control otherwise we're never gonna have the kind of economic recovery we all hope for.

You know -- talked about the president's speech a little bit his inaugural address.

You start off by saying -- coming soon find and his -- left that behind.

It's not doing fine and it won't be until he is into -- what is -- seventy taking believe Gary just -- -- Just thought that there was -- the polite thing to say why he -- well I think he didn't want to.

Talk about it I mean I think this is the question a lot of people have where -- fewer people working today than there were four years ago.

And by saying it is beginning kind of saying economy's improving so -- forget that part.

And then on the debt and deficit I mean you would not have listed as speech and thought that we were living in -- country with -- record debt.

That's again impacting the economy today is certainly in world into the future generations and deficits of over a trillion dollars a year.

You just wouldn't have thought that an evolution you know that the speech at some good -- -- thought like the themes of unity -- -- -- Talk about -- we -- any.

I literally like every little -- -- you know universe we know -- -- the American people we sold on sort of the theme of unity anymore because we don't have it.

And they knock -- and I know that Dem President Obama gets opposed by the Republicans spend whatever party in power gets opposed by the opposing party I mean that's that's what politics is all about.

But the job of the leader is to somehow figure a way around that decision solution finally coming around you -- well whatever it is it still is a job in the answer can't be there against me it just can't get that -- is an easy job.

But that it just can't think the answer.

The champion on either side and -- Republicans who want to work with him to address the big issues we -- to start off by acknowledging them.

And for the president to say with regard to the debt and deficit that we don't have to make tough decisions remember we talked about the fact that the generation -- -- country.

Doesn't need to be pitted against a younger generation and that everything you know can work out fine without making tough -- twelve.

Unfortunately -- present -- join the leadership that's needed to say we do have a spending problem we've got to address it.

Incredibly important entitlement programs which are vital but unsustainable in the current form must be reformed and it requires presidential leadership.

Is says senator -- -- Vice President Biden he is he easier doing it to work when I mean this disease the senate find him -- Better sort of negotiator for the well he's been willing to talk -- and this is what happened.

You know several weeks ago when he and Mitch McConnell we wouldn't talk about the issues and have been two years ago so.

He's someone who is willing to interact with the house the senate can and try to come up with a solution.

And look we've got.

Good big problems of countries in trouble we need to work together.

But it requires presidential leadership we have not seen that we haven't seen with regard to the budget as we said we'll just hadn't hadn't seen in terms of economic growth we need pro growth.

Tax reform -- -- regulatory relief when he takes to get this economy moving is not just about.

Restrain the spending which has to happen in order for us to avoid.

Becoming Greece but it's also about just getting this economy moving again and -- things we can and should -- together senate thank god -- that affects turnout.
