And but for now.

There are new threats against the US homeland.

From nuclear -- North Korea the rogue regime rolling out plans to conduct some more military tasks with a warhead that they claim is capable of reaching the United States.

Steve Centanni is live on this for us in Washington this morning so what are they saying about this exactly -- Well Martha the north Koreans are promising there will be another test in defiance of the latest United Nations resolution and it'll be a nuclear test of a higher level.

According to the Korean government now last month the north successfully launched a rocket to put -- weather satellite into orbit.

It was labeled by the US Japan and South Korea.

As a test of technology that could one day deliver a nuclear warhead.

Capable of picking targets as far away as the US.

North Korea's top governing body the national defense commission warned today of another test coming.

Of a higher level they say in their declaration says in part a new phase of the anti US struggle that has lasted century after century.

We'll target against the US the sworn enemy of the Korean people settling accounts with the US needs to be done with force not with words.

As it regards jungle law as the rule of its survival.

-- the reference to a higher level nuclear test most likely refers to a device made from highly enriched uranium.

Which is easier to miniaturized.

And eventually mount as a warhead or -- They're strong words to -- so what's the US reaction darkness.

Well so far -- reaction from the State Department or the Department of Defense but the US envoy to North Korea Glynn Davies was in Seoul and held a news conference.

And he told reporters this quote.

Whether North Korea test or not it's up to North Korea we hope they don't do it.

We call on them not to do it.

It'll be a mistake and a missed opportunity if they do -- -- Glenn Davies he was canceled a trip that includes stops in Japan and China.

All to discuss a way forward.

On North Korean relations Martha Steve thank you.
