Much of the country is in the grip of Arctic freezing freezing cold weather right now in the northeast.

Temperatures hovering near zero.

And across the midwest wind chill readings falling to 38 degrees below.

Yeah -- -- and my building he's in Chicago where it feels like seven in the below right now our hearing about a warehouse fire there turned out that was quite -- -- bike.

It really has made quite a side of the bad news is that warehouse fired back up this morning.

Still about fifty firefighters had to get out the bitter cold -- this morning starts spraying water.

Back on top of this structure which has become an ice castle.

And they need so much water the firefighters are moving at a special -- usually -- unit.

-- that big warehouse fire which gives them the ability to dump more water on top but that's creating its own problem.

That's an old warehouse that ice gets really heavy so the structure.

Is in danger of collapse right now the good news is when you get these giant five alarm fires that'll fire fire buddy of mine used to call that -- surround and drown.

You don't necessarily have the guys inside of the structure as it -- say it at risk of collapse.

But the wind chill is bringing the temperatures for these firefighters down to 25 below its drawn tremendous -- is right now the way one of the firefighters put it I hope there's not another fire because you have so much in the way of resources invested in putting this thing out.

The biggest in recent years here in Chicago -- Boy -- raises questions about what is still doing there Mike touching a little bit about the rest of the country.

Pretty cold here in the New York area what's going on and also are.

It's so cold -- -- is -- so called.

They had to shut down a S ski resort in New Hampshire.

We've got about 36 below and northern parts of Maine thirty below and northern Minnesota.

He got a lot of people who still have to work out in this called several deaths have been reported.

Because of this bitter cold that has been moved and and lead as a kid growing up out here close to the Great Lakes I used to always watch for the lake effect snow because that make you would get a day off school will the lake effect is doing its thing right now and that could mean this long streak of no snow here in Chicago.

Could be ending soon -- No -- really here in New York if there were waiting for it here as well Mike Woolsey thank you stay warm inside the flash shots over -- --
