-- I am Lawrence and a nanny and this is fox extra well she did not get her start on television -- news by the age of eight she had multiple commercials under her belt and played a leading role in Little House on the Prairie.

Anchor of the Fox Business show money with Melissa Francis and markets now Melissa Francis is not here to talk about the economy.

She's here to discuss her new memoir diary of -- stage mother's daughter why did you decide.

And sharing your story that gosh you know it was really tough to make this decision I've always wanted to write it's been a passion of mine.

And this is really you know of the story that I had to tell and also.

-- just reached a point in my life where so many of us do have a traumatic past her troubled past.

And you don't share with people and I had become the master of not sharing myself in my personal life with Angel even friends to -- -- just flow -- -- you know war or was it hard to -- it -- I mean it was hard to make the decision to do it because it is so personal and there are so many you know things that happening here that I never told my closest friends so many things that were surprising and it's embarrassing -- mean it's embarrassing -- sort of bring out your past but in a lot of -- it was really freeing because now I feel like.

Everyone who watches us on TV your friends who know us they do everything now you know there's Dixon -- after -- there isn't.

Writing an end -- -- very liberating I mean I think a lot of people look at -- and you know say your lights for pregnant no no it's not and and I'm happy to be able to share that because.

I think it's important now than it -- everybody has problems and challenges and that's how you learn from nine grow from that goal line so much of your child who was affected by your mother -- your life talent that affected your view of -- you have to -- our -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- I mean that's a lot of what the book is about I was raised by the Hollywood version of the tiger mom which is the stage -- -- very intense controlling.

Mom who managed every part of my life and there were great times.

You know we have a lot of fun she made me a perfectionist and -- -- someone who expected everything from myself and -- so hard.

But there was also a dark side to it as you read the book you -- -- -- UB took it to the extreme.

For me it you need -- someone who achieved but for my sister who couldn't live up to her expectations and couldn't perform the way she wanted.

It destroyed her I mean she felt very bad about herself from -- very young age she was never able to recover from that and as a -- it makes me feel like.

The one size fits all the parenting doesn't work when you read about the tiger mom or or really any velocity for that matter.

To prisoner can't they all react differently -- the same type of parenting.

I have two sons air so different I mean the same type of discipline or encouragement to totally different outcome for each of them and I think as a parent.

I just watched my kids to listen closely train course cracked him and I want them to be happy I want them to be the best they can be.

But you know that takes adjustment along the way not just pressuring them into six sacks.

Melissa thanks so much for sharing your book diary at -- stage mother's daughter with us and make sure to catch money with Melissa Francis weekdays at 5 PM eastern.
