-- -- in the courtroom but now a rare look at the accused killer behind bars.

Kids say C -- trying -- getting exclusive access to areas inside of maximum security Phoenix prison.

-- -- -- for the past couple of weeks this is how we've heard about -- area you know.

So yeah.

Prosecutors working as hard as they can to send her to death row but tonight we hear about -- in a very different way.

-- it happens here.

Her hold for now.

The maximum security talent strayed jail in Phoenix I was given exclusive access to this you know and -- -- -- I feel.

We spoke together for some time particularly those gonna go or because of her impending case any advice of her attorneys she didn't want to appear on camera and I agree.

And I promised her not to reveal some of the things we talked about.

But I also told -- I was going to show our viewers how she's living.

Right so this is Julie's room here herself you can see it's just that small cells a little tiny window of -- Three books.

Only two of them are occupy this is -- is right here in the middle.

And her roommates is down here.

There's a small writing desk.

And that some lotions and then over here you've got a toilet in the basin.

She's locked down in here with her cellmate.

10 PM -- -- until 6 in the morning.

You know that was shooting that something interesting happened.

All the duties pod mates held -- hand written notes they created right there on the spot in the red.

Green -- they stood in the line of solidarity.

And I soon learned that these troubled women -- circling their wagons around -- friend.

Maybe new circumstances more of a surrogate merely -- She comes in here with a smiling face but anybody who doesn't like -- knows that she's -- -- But she can't show it to us because if she comes in here hurting we're going to be like what's wrong that she's here to talk and tell you what I was on traffic and I wouldn't talk about it I -- -- -- -- make everybody think faster than I'm.

-- -- -- Because of the nature of her charges -- is being kept -- one of the higher security units here and we're detention officers can keep a close watch on.

-- -- -- -- -- -- -- So we guess we'll keep an eye on all of the.

-- tell me one of the way she occupies himself in jail is with her heart.

-- so we -- her drawings and paintings landscapes.

Portraits.

But maybe some of the most vivid portraits were of -- herself and they were created inside these concrete walls by those who say they now know her best.

She has the biggest part of -- a lot of I don't think it you know that he actually -- Kind of quiet she really you guys -- prayers right now she's just an amazing person all around -- do anything to help any of us.

Girls in here and we all love her very much the roles be reversed that in this case you know he be -- -- -- for her.

You know I mean it can be reversed and people don't even think about you know anything about the fact they.

She is here.

And that's an argument that -- -- -- her lifelong.

And KS AC anchor -- Haden joins us.

Turning out I'm curious I've been reading stories about step possible witnesses for the defense one is a woman named Lisa Andrews an ex girlfriend of the decedent.

What -- and apparently there's an email and Bob do you know anything as to why she would be called.

Well I do know there are actually a couple of ex girlfriends on this witness list -- and I think what they're gonna try to say the defense is that he was seeing multiple women at the same time it -- back up some of the claims are gonna use.

In terms of abuse or emotional abuse I think one of the most interesting witnesses to me as many Matt McCartney.

Who is -- ex boyfriend for some two years and he claims in a blogs the only place I've seen this.

That he saw -- with a broken finger and marks on her neck that she said she gotten Travis so we'll see if he takes us there.

I guess I need to issue that she better hope that the those marks -- the day after the murder that they were -- haven't looked like guess you -- should engage a fight I guess the whole business about calling the ex girlfriends and Lisa Anders apparently.

-- Sanders thinks that the defendant sent her an email which she gets called a shameful horror and their religious connotation to everything.

I for the life of me I -- understand.

It it's usually in those witnesses supply gave motive to kill.

That -- would be jealous at their ex girlfriends I don't know how they've possibly would lead to something that would do.

Appear exculpatory.

Right a lot of stress this same question I talk to -- and doctor Heidi was a very close -- he's a plastic surgeon out here in Mesa, Arizona very close friend of Travis is that I asked message.

How can we -- here -- a lot of Travis is -- because of a fairly right after the killings.

They all suspected -- He said he didn't know for sure at this -- little -- talking about apparently she had her tires slashed.

By Judy here is so they are suspected that and that's when those that those emails came out so I I don't know what she's gonna say that's gonna help the defense -- -- -- -- -- So it's -- like -- abuses the ex girlfriends that does that the decedent abuses -- So we'll have to -- I mean.

-- -- that have that prosecutions that are really good job in this case I sit in there every day we saw those pictures.

The horrible pictures of Travis -- body and really one of the most violent murders I've ever covered here in town.

And there's really no other suspects out there is she's admitting that she did this so they've got a big hill to climb the defense that's.

I'm -- depression did a very good job but sometimes you get so much evidence it's almost fail yes it's almost impossible not to to do a good job but sometimes a defendant.

Make such a mess of things that makes it quite easy point.
