Lawmakers were hoping that secretary Clinton's highly anticipated testimony this week on the big Ghazi terror attacks.

What -- provided some hard evidence as to how this tragedy could have happened.

But yesterday I sat down with Senator John McCain who was -- that hearing and had a chance to question mrs.

Clinton.

I asked why he and other lawmakers didn't push harder for -- follow -- I'm very important issues like what early warning measures -- -- to address the security threat at the consulate.

Was why -- all of these warnings ignored.

And there have been already attacks on the British ambassador on the British consulate.

And that is that is something that they think they can stall long enough.

With the help of the adoring media that -- all just fade away some how much do not intend.

To let it fade away and we'll do everything in our power to get answers.

All right let -- -- -- -- to us and is it was being made today we have learned Fox News has learned that the Pentagon is now threatening to furlough all of its employees if congress -- unable to avoid sequestration.

The Pentagon apparently has -- up to 800000 civilian employees what's your reaction to this.

My reaction is that I hope that members of congress and the president.

Will pay attention to secretary -- defense Panetta.

And the chairman of the joint chiefs who are saying.

That draconian measures will have to be taken furloughs layoffs in the defense industry.

But most importantly to me -- devastating blow to our national security.

If this sequestration takes place and it's up to congress and the president to act together.

And frankly so far I have not seen the kind of urgency that many of us feel about sequestration.

And it its implementation.

This raises big concerns.

For those employees and what is and -- -- military right now.

Yes including our civilian employees of many of our major defense contractors.

Who will also be laid offs primarily.

Another story that I know -- particularly keen on is fact that -- That would have -- now allowed to be in combat situations I know you support this move but there are many Republicans were very upset by this saying that.

The White House is using this as an opportunity for social experiment.

And that this is not the time to further that agenda how do you respond to that.

I think it's true that women are in combat given the nature of war today.

The kind of environment in Afghanistan for example where TDs are everywhere where there -- shelling and rockets and terrorist attacks.

By suicide bombers and others but having said that.

I believe that the important factor here is that women and men.

In order to qualify for certain roles in the military.

Have to meet certain physical and mental standards there should be no waivers for anybody.

And as long is that standard.

Is adhered to then I am I'm proud to have qualified women.

Who are serving in combat situations and you know.

Some people I know think that.

Generally speaking women are smarter than men anyway.

Focusing specifically on immigration can you give us that's an insight as to what this is going to be about.

Well a group of us have been working for a number of weeks on immigration reform.

We're gonna articulate those principles and we'll be coming out of those and we wanna work with the White House -- wanna work with the house.

But a bipartisan group of senators.

Will be -- coming up with a set of principles it's very important.

That we -- in coordination with the White House rather than opposition.

And with our house colleagues but.

I believe we need to enact comprehensive immigration reform and -- Pleased to be part of that effort and I know that that it's not without controversy senator look forward to that and it's always great to see you thank you saw that you.
