Football and injuries and -- -- the new republic saying quote I'm a big football fan but if I have to tell you -- a sign I have to think long and hard before I let him play football so as the president.

You have a valid point about the told.

The -- takes some players always there's a slap in the face.

To the game itself -- right now Craig James former SMU star running star running back as well as doing the patriots are.

And a tremendous college football analyst Greg what -- -- what are your thoughts about the president weighing in on this.

Well -- good morning first ball and I was glad to hear the president weigh in on it and shining that light on such a serious matter.

I mean we have two US parents and as players and -- organizations really find a way.

To somehow throttle back the viciousness of this sport.

And the leading with the head we need to teach kids when they're young that you don't lead -- your head we've got to get away from that mentality of I wanna make the highlight show at 10 o'clock at night so there's a lot to be done to try to find a way to protect the brains of these players who -- your son play.

You had head injuries in your -- head injuries are you a bad parent.

No not at all I mean -- there's a risk as an athlete when you walk on the field I think of the president really wants to do something in a positive manner.

He needs to have a conversation with the NCAA in the school presidents in college football because Brian you know that's where he was really focused he was concerned about the college football player.

And he needs to have them with a voice these players in college they need to have the right to organize they need to form a union.

So that they can have protections long term care because these college players only 1% are gonna play in the National Football League.

Those are the kids that we need to be concerned with 'cause they're gonna have long term impacts that are negative -- you picked off four players are right to get together on a class action suit against the NFL Riddell helmets.

Well I'm not I'm not certain of that but I do know this that over the years there about a lot of players who have had head injuries.

And have been a lot of coaches and trainers and doctors at the old school way they just you know -- -- -- -- smelling salts take a couple bad bill and get back in there.

And that was my era that has to change and of those doctors and they can prove that they did something.

That was not to the best interest of that player than certainly they should be responsible for and Emmitt -- those on Friday.

He said tests me I had more carries than anybody else test my brain I'm curious not getting it dementia later on.

But he certainly as an -- now it's atop his game as are you Craig James thanks so much.

If you -- Bryant thanks for having me all right.
