Hi everyone I'm meteorologist Maria Molina from the -- inching weather center with your forecast for the northeast.

And also portions of the midwest and -- today's going to be a very messy day out here across both areas.

We have some winter weather that we're -- -- in the form of snow sleet and even some freezing rain.

And also a significant warmup as we -- -- the next couple of days across our area so kind of a wild weather week here in store for us for today though.

Temperatures very close to where they should be apps for the month of January like in New York City you're expecting a high at 3637.

Over in Syracuse in the low thirties -- portions of New England -- Boston 21.

In the city of caribou but doesn't look westward Saint Louis you're actually expecting a -- mild day today 69 degrees out there 47 in Chicago and that's a sign that we're going to be seeing.

A rise in those temperatures not just today but even as we head into tomorrow so this system's really bringing that -- air from the south.

On north Koreans the midwest Great Lakes and into the northeast.

But first we do have to deal with the snow across portions of of seniority nozzle continuing wind snowfall accumulations though thankfully will be relatively light.

I generally speaking lessons six inches of snow -- here but the problem is.

And when you transition from that -- and into -- milder air you do have some freezing rain in between that an awesome sleep so that of course could be accumulating on the roadways.

And that ice could be a big issue as far as and driving goes out here throughout the morning hours to -- into the early afternoon hours but eventually that does transition to -- -- rain.

And then once -- batch of moisture gets out of here we're gonna have a bit of a little.

Early Tuesday morning but then another storm system arrives -- as we head into late Tuesday and also into your day on Wednesday with more areas of freezing rain across areas in new England and also more widespread areas of heavy rain into Pennsylvania and that nexus some.

We'll be ushering in some much colder air into the northeast to wrap up the work -- so we're gonna be seeing a roller coaster here with those temperatures warming up in mid week.

And then dropping off by the timing and the work week on Friday so keep that in mind throughout the week today otherwise have a great everyone I'm meteorologist Maria Molina from the fox extreme weather center.
